More playing time here, Chris! Please sign him, Mason/Leighton would make me a happy man.

Please! Its really the only option left, unless we trade for a Schnieder/Quick/Bernier

Mason for 1.5M a year? Hell yeah.

Send Boucher to AHL.

This.

It's either go be a back-up cheap.

Or.

Starter for a Stanley Cup contender with an even BETTER defense cheap.

Sharks sign Turco while Tampa sign Nabby and maybe Mason is jobless.

That and both Turco and Nabby are asking for way too much. Teams are probably looking at them and telling them to **** off.

In all honesty, when factoring in age/price/talent, Mason was the one I wanted most. If he's left standing when the music stops playing, Holmgren/Flyers might end up falling ass-backwards into a great situation. I doubt we get that lucky though.

I dont think Mason will sign for the same salary as Leighton, but if he did that would be great.

Odd that two playoff teams contacted him yet he signed for under $2M on a short deal with Atlanta. I imagine NJ lowballed him but what the hell did the Flyers offer? $1.5 with a conf champ is better than $1.85 with a junk franchise. Given his history he is better off in a platoon but I guess he may also get that in ATL.

Chris Mason gets 2 years @ $3.7M and Michael Leighton gets 2 years @ $3.1M. What's wrong with this picture, aside from everything?

He is going to be Pavelec's backup, whether he knows it or not.
