Wow.

....just wow.

Seems a bit high if the numbers are right.

He is one of the better, more feared fighters in the league, but can he take a shift w/o getting you in trouble.

Terms cannot be true. 1,45 per is way overpayment. 4 years make sense though as they want him to be here when McIllWrath and McNaughty show up to give the boys some schooling. But the other two signings so far 2day are good imo. Christ + Biron for 1,8 M is totally good. Shelly is gone. Long live the boogie man!

this contract is almost as bad, proportionately, to the Drury, Redden, and Gomez deals.

I feel like throwing up.

Doesn't Shelley fall under the 35 yr old plus category? I though this was how the Flyers screwed up the Pronger deal. I thought it covered you if you turned 35 duing the first year of the deal, not the age you are the day you signed the deal. If that's the case, there's no way I give Shelley 3 years. He just doesnt have that much gas left in the tank. I'm fine with this deal.

I won't defend his hockey skills, but he does land some massive hits. He just doesn't connect on them often.

This would be good if the total deal was 1.65. I hate Sather. Hope he gets lost at sea or falls over the side while fishing.

As long as he actually beats up the right guys the enforcer role is relevant.

Protect the King

Doesnt need to score any goals as long as he is truly feared by the other teams and keeps players from running our King and the skilled guys. But Shell was doing that and he showed chemistry. How much of an upgrade can this be?

Maybe the $$$ is wrong.....

Knew it was too good to be true for Sather but...

...if he's not moronic on the ice like Hollweg/Brashear, then it will still be better than Shelley.

Not getting my hopes up though.

The only better fighter in the league in the last 5 years was Laraque.

With Laraque future now in question, Boogaard takes over the mantle.

The Rangers with the draft and now with this signing just got oodles and oodles tougher.

I can guarantee you that that Carcillo issue would have NEVER have happened is Boogaard was on the team last year.

This is a ncie signing...money is a tad bit to high, but he is the best at what he does.

Hey guys....step away from the ledge and relax. Have a beer or something.

Yes he is overpaid, but its by what 600K? Its not like we just signed Kotalik for 3M or Drury for 4M more then he's worth.
