Chicago is dumping alot of their 3/4th line depth. The same depth that contributed to their run to Lord Stanley's Cup. It will be very interesting to see how they cope with this.
Dan Ellis to Philly. Him tag teamed with Leighton will officially lock down the 'Nashville North' title
Chicago will trade away more salary. they have 13 players signed for 55 million. Insane. If I'm Chicago I'm calling Nashville and making any offer I can for cheap 4th liners, Laakso, and Sulzer. Nashville has plenty of depth in Milwaukee and can move players to Chicago for picks and prospects.
Is it just me or does it feel like every team is getting worse?
There are some big retirements this year and players leaving, and then the trades are bottom-feeders getting a good team's depth. These trade might be a lose/lose because a guy like Byfuglein cant be a top line player and it hurts Chicagos other lines. Even the free agent signings today are the stereotypical overpaid players, but this year those players suck. Gonchar is the best player and he is paid more than Volchenkov and will likely decline.
Im actually glad our free agent signing is only 700k and someone we never heard of.

The rich teams are burning through cap space and not even getting a player.
I'm just waiting for the Olli Jokinen back to Calgary rumors to crystallize.
