This roster did NOT need major changes, just some minor tweaking (goalie upgrade and 3rd pairing defenseman). Trading Gagne so we have cap room for Jody Shelley and Sean O'Donnell is not only a major change, but it's beyond ****ing retarded. Can ANYONE in the hockey world defend these moves?
Seriously, what the hell does Homer think he's doing?
That's my trepidation. I could do it for a year with the Phils. I could do it for eternity with the Eagles. Not sure I can go without the Flyers, but Homlgren is doing his best to ruin so much of what I love here.
It took the Brad Johnson ****can for Jeff George. Not sure we're to that level of idiocy yet, but we're getting close.

I've been a Flyers fan longer than most of you have been alive but with today and his dumbass deals, Homer is making staying a fan hard. I'm afraid to see what team we still have when I wake up tomorrow morning.
Check his wikipedia page real quick... I nearly shat myself:
Someone's having a bit of fun (check the footnote). But, seriously, if it turns out that's the trade made for Gagne, Homer should be fired on the spot. I'd take the Jody Shelley contract 100000000 times out of 100000000 before even thinking about the Finger deal. And Grabovski? Yeah, he has talent, but he wants more money than he's worth and has been nothing but unfulfilled potential thus far.
You seriously could not make a worse trade. Then again, it's Paul Holmgren we're talking about.
Well, with the economy likely heading for a double-dip recession, the cap isn't likely to go up two years in a row. It's more than likely to stagnate or even go down.
With Giroux and Carter needing deals - and who knows what'll be going on with Leino depending on his next campaign - and the sensitivity of the Flyers' brotherhood concerning concussions....it might not be such a bad move, depending on what they can get back of course. It would be too disruptive for team chemistry to move him during the season next year.
Perhaps to the Avs for a conditional 1st or 2nd depending on if he signs and defensive prospect (and Radnor's own) Colby Cohen?
Watch him refuse to waive the NTC, and Holmgren pulls another Randy Jones.
I forgot about the NTC. I really hope Gags refuses to go anywhere. Though, forcing him out will have to have some negative consequences in the locker room.
if this happens i might renounce fandom, at least for a few months. its a shame. i was gonna get a new jersey, looks like i might end up with a new avs jersey. white duchene maybe.
