Carcillo can actually play hockey....Shelly is a complete waste of space

I think Homer wants to ice the slowest 4th line ever next year with Shelly and Lappy out there!

Gagne + 1st for Wade Belak and Hugh Jessiman, ya know, to replenish the farm system.

I would cry, feel sick to my stomach, and 100% consider not really following the team next year.

**** you Paul Holmgren. From the bottom of my heart, ****. YOU.

OK I don't want to see Gagne gone but this meme that he's getting dealt because of the O'Donnell and Shelley contracts is beyond ridiculous. They signed for a combined cap hit of $2.1M. It's not like those roster spots would be empty if these two weren't signed. They would otherwise be filled and the savings would be less than $1.0M.

Is everyone forgetting that Meszaros has a cap hit of $4.0M and another contract did not go the other way in that deal? I know people are upset about Gagne possibly being dealt but blaming the signings of Shelley and O'Donnell is pretty silly. He would clearly be pushed out because of Meszaros and not Shelley or O'Donnell.

I'd rather lose Gagne for nothing in a year than not only disrespect him completely by trading him but blowing our chances at a Cup just because we're "dumping" him.

We stand a better chance with Gagne on the wing than we do trading him for even a starting goalie at this point (barring this goalie being Vokoun, Miller, Lundqvist, Brodeur, or Luongo).

Hartnell or Carle needs to go first.

Jody Shelley is getting 1.1mil for ~4min a night. That to me is ridiculous. I'd rather have Ivanans at 575k like the Flames.

Resign the RFA's, ditch Parent, Get a legit 5th d and sign a decent goalie. That is ALL this team needed. Why the insanity?

Shelley, Meszaros. I don't care, either way we would hypothetically be losing him for completely superfluous additions. It's ********, this guy should retire a Flyer.

Well, the bad news is that Eklund just tweeted that the Flyers are done for the night. Which means something in Philly is probably going down.

It may sound dumb to some, but does it seem like the move necessary would be to trade Carter for smaller pieces? I mean it's hard to see where he fits anymore.

Before I'm flamed, I know how good he is and 40 goal scorers dont just appear from nowhere. But just think about it.

1. gagne wont want to be traded

2. i cant see many teams being too eager for him, given recent injury history coupled with a 5 million dollar contract

i dont believe this rumor

i just spent 170 on a gags jersey to...a trade would hurt me in the heart and the wallet

Timmy is reporting that the Flyers are trying to free up salary to go back for Turco or Nabby.

Burn the Wach down *************! Burn it.

It is official. Paul Holmgren cannot a) count, b) deal in business, c) continue to be the GM of the Philadelphia Flyers. Snider needs to get his ass in gear and understand that when loyalty interferes with the business, things needs to change.

Well given the events today I am thinking another shoe is going to drop however I'd also point out that neither Nabokov nor Turco has been signed and the list of teams in desperate need of goaltending is shrinking rapidly.

So Gagne could be the guy who makes way for a signing or a trade given his salary, potential quality of play and the length of his deal unfortunately.

I will HATE to see him go but depending on how it works out it may or may not really hurt the team. It seems difficult to foresee him staying beyond this current contract and while the team should be going all in for this year that may mean sacrificing someone who won't be part of the future plans.

Emotionally I would be torn apart by his departure, rationally I say let's wait and see if he even leaves and what it opens the door for.

If this is true, then there is only one thing left to do.

Find Paul. Bind, blindfold, and shackle him. Bring him to the Wachovia center. Take him to center ice. Gut him. Tie his entrails in a knot while he is still alive.

We'd lose that deal, come on I would love to have Bernier also but he is not ready to backstop a team for an entire season and the playoffs and here we are downgrading at a top six forward position and giving away a very good young defender to get him for our current starter.

Something smaller for Quick would work better, I think the Kings are much more likely to move Quick than Bernier to be quite honest.
