I would do that in a second. The Ducks wouldn't though

Some people are saying AK 46 for Simon Gagne, before I went to bad last night I saw a few people saying Gagne was on the block.

How about Russian for Russian?

To Montreal:
Nikita Filatov

To Columbus:
Andrei Kostitsyn (++)

David Pagnotta from thefourthperiod wrote last night on his twitter that Filatov was shopped by the organization. I know he returned to Russia last year but playing under Hitchcock kinda sucks and he's coming back this year. This guy's potential is through the roof. Although, his source was a text..dunno if it's reliable enough.

the ducks have some problems signing ryan because he wants too much money. They had offer 5 years 25 million but ryan want more...

maybe we could package kost and more for Bobby Ryan. That guy is just too good!!!
Habs trying to get as many 1st rounders from that draft as possible!

If he didn't like Hitchcock he won't like Martin. Didn't Filatov say something like he felt cramped by Hitchcock's defensive style.

Playing under Jacques Martin will suck equally for him

Habs should target a young, fast two way player with great potential. The two-way players play the best in our system.

Three words: Doughty and Kopitar.

Those two are respectively better than our 1st Cman and 1st Dman. The other players of each teams are similar.

McKenzie, Dreger and others are saying he is the most likely candidate out.

If Habs ship AK to Philly for Gagne it gives the Flyers $2 million in cap relief, but doesn't help the Habs as we would have less space left to sign players like Lapierre and other RFA's.

There were rumours that Gagne maybe part of another deal with Tampa and Philly, this was stated after the Meszaros deal.

Trading A.Kost would be a terrible idea... he has very low value right now.

Quick has to repeat, and if not Bernier has to be ready.

And if I'm Philly, I'd do it. Andrei on a Philly team and system would thrive so much, we'd have a sticky on Andrei just to talk about his performances....

If I'm the Habs, well, unless there's another move, I don't see how it puts us in the best of position unless we do another move à la getting rid of Hammer or Spaceman. Unless acquiring Gagne was as a matter of fact a 3-way trade to give Gagné to a team with more cap space so we'd get something cheaper.....Not sure the effect in the public and the medias though as far as using Gagné that way though....Seeing what GAuthier did lately, not sure he cares much...

It's Cammy that has played with both and has the best judgement of both players.
Frolov has had issues with every L.A. King's coaching staff since he landed in La-La land and if he ended up in Montreal i'd be willing to bet that the poster's who want him now , would be the same one's who would be calling for his head before Christmas .

Cammy had issues with the Kings management. Gm Lombardi and Coach Murray are very anal about what they want from players in terms of character, if you don't have the character their looking for, then it's very easy to fall in their dog-house. Plus, Frolov had problems at the begining of the year and was benched for like a game. He came back and was given 3rd line defensive duties for most of the season and still put up 51 points.

Kings fans actually like Frolov and are always quick to de-bunk the "lazy" myth that gets associated with him.

Frolov is a great two-way player(a poor man's Hossa) who uses his size, this last point cannot be stressed enough. Sure he has trouble with consistency, but he's isn't at the level of Andrei Kostitsyn in that department.

Now I like Andrei, one of my favorite players, but if he were replaced by Frolov it would be a significant upgrade.

I would be all for a bottom 6 guy if he was a guy like Jordin Tootoo AK still has the potential to be a top pairing guy and we need to get quality return for him.

Why not work with him and help him return to his younger self instead of trading the guy when his value is at his ****ing lowest?

Trade top 6 winger for top 6 winger.

Our top 6 winger may be very slow starting and inconsistent, but he's at least physical. Doubt he gets moved.

They have some nice pieces, but I would take the Habs roster and prospects over LA's any day. LA still has a lot of work to do.

If we trade A Kost it's becaus we need to dump salaries. We won't get a good player for him. A 2nd round pick at best.

I think there are three hypothesis a) Sign with the Kings b) Re-sign with the Devils c) Sign a bigger contract in KHL
Those are the reason signing Kovalchuk becomes problematic for the L.A. Kings. Doughty, Johnson, and Simmonds are rfa's in 2011 and will be getting huge raises. These players alone will make it very difficult for them to sign Kovalchuk .

Concur. Filatov does not want to be tormented with duties like backchecking.
