Coburn, Boucher, Carcillo for Raymond, Schneider+ pick

Think the Canucks would do it? Would you?

We dont have Carcillo. And depending on the pick, I would consider it.

We essentially have Carcillo, we have his RFA rights which is him, just not under contract but he's under our control.

Oh forgot he was an RFA. Thought he was a UFA. He is still that young?

That is one of the biggest homer trades I have ever seen on these boards.

There is absolutely no way that Vancouver trades for a (now overpaid) regressing 2nd pairing dman, a (soon to be overpaid) headcase 4th line lightweight and a medicore at best backup for one of the top 3 goalie prospects in the league (with an amazing cap hit for the next 2 years), a young, proven 50 point forward with a nice ceiling AND a pick.

as a Canuck fan, no interest at all in this trade.

Should have asked a week ago pre-Ballard/Hamhuis... now there isn't room for Coburn.

Raymond is the most valuable piece in this trade for the Canucks... he addresses a need in the top-6. Coburn does not anymore, with the Canucks already stocked on defense, especially with left handed shots (Ballard, Hamhuis, Edler, Ehrhoff, O'Brien, Alberts, Rome).

LA needs D, not Vancouver. LA are the ones who missed out on all of the D yesterday because of their pursuit of Kovalchuk. I just doubt we'll be able to get one of their goalies from them until atleast the deadline. And I don't think that Holmgren wants to trade one of his top-5 dmen unfortunately, so we are bound to have atleast 3.2 Million on our 3rd pairing.

Maybe LA wanted Meszaros packaged with other pieces in order to give us Quick????

yeah I was going to say, do you really think coburn is worth raymond and schneider? or even just raymond? because boucher and carcillo are really just throw-in's in my opinion.

If Phillly wants a goalie they need to find a team that is short on D if they want something that works for both teams. I know the Kings came up short in the free agency market for D-men, maybe something around Carle + for one of their goalies? I feel like that trade has been proposed a million times and the Kings fans always say they aren't trading either Bernier or Quick but maybe post free agency things have changed?

I think the best option is probably Carle to somewhere like LA or Colombus for picks/prospects in a straight salary dump so that we can throw $3 mill at Turco (or Nabby if his price has fallen that low).

Lol, no, depending on what pick you're talking Vancouver is not only trading the best piece in the deal, they are probably trading the best THREE pieces in the deal.

Not even close.

one has to imagine that another DMan--either Carle or Timonen, maybe an outside chance of Coburn--is the trade target, not Meszaros. If teams wanted Meszaros, they would have gone to the source in Tampa. He is a stand-in for the guy Homer is going to move.

Three best pieces in the deal?

Coburn is worth significantly more than Schneider, and he's almost as valuable as Raymond.

The underrating of Coburn is fairly criminal.

That said, Philly still wins the deal. Vancouver has no reason to do it.

Perhaps an exaggeration for emphasis lol, to be honest I would rank the pieces:
1) Coburn
2a) Schneider)
2b) Raymond
3)Carcillo
4) Undetermined draft choice
5) Boucher

Anyway it is pointless, we can we STOP talking about trading for a goaltending PROSPECT? Really? People want to turn this team over to Corey Schneider or Jonas Enroth or some BS? Bernier is the only guy I'd even consider and as I've stated I think we'd have a better shot at Quick than him, the Kings are NOT trading Bernier.
