Gagne has agreed to waive his no trade clause

per Eklund

Is this the end for Gagne?

An NHL source just confirmed to me that the Flyers have asked Simon Gagne to waive his no trade clause. No trade is imminent however.

Gagne has agreed to waive his no trade clause. Again no trade is imminent this weekend. I'd expect monday or tuesday at the earliest.

So Eklund is someone on this board, because EVERYONE has said there has to be a deal coming. What a great prediction!

Can we really trust Ecklund? I heard from various previous posts that he is unreliable, but with all the craziness going on so far I wouldn't be surprised. Either way, I'm really nervous

Only reason I posted this was because Eklund has had near 100% accuracy this offseason. I'm starting to drink the punch with him, you know?

I would expect this soon if he says it, which scares me that I believe him.

Looking at our cap space and needs, it seems like a pretty easy assumption to make. Once Kovalchuk signs things are really going to heat up.

I'm not sure if Ek has mentioned Gagne but Doug Maclean has plenty. I know Maclean personally and I'm really not sure who his Flyers sources would be. I think I'd take Eklunds word over Dougie's right now.

If there is ONLY one team Eklund can get right, it's Philly.

That being said, any idiot can tell we have something brewing. We can not enter the season with this roster because we are currently 500k over the cap, EASY.

What are the NTC situations with our players?

Briere - NMC
Timonen - NMC
Hartnell - NTC
Gagne - NTC

?

Are any of those limited in anyway? The only one I can see maybe waiving his is Hartnell. So if a major salary clearing trade is in the works...itd have to be Carter or Carle?

I am all buckled up. If this is not Carter, Richards, Giroux, JVR THAN I am ready.

I know we won’t trade Pronger or Timonen.

Every one else might be traded for the right price. Which is scary cosidering Homegren trading history.

I have no idea what RIGHT does Homer have to trade Gagne. What RIGHT does he have.

Maybe I should have titled the thread "Big Trade about to go down"

Obviously there is a trade in the future, I wanted to point out just how soon it could be.

I like Carter but I'd be ok if it were Dustin Brown or Bobby Ryan on their way to Philly....although with Ryan it wouldn't exactly be a cap reliever.

He just added, "possibly Nabokov" to the Flyers trade. So it looks like we are clearing space for Nabby.

Haha. Two faced? I never advocated trading Carter once. I just have the feeling he will be dealt.

Flyers have never been very happy with players who have given them a hard time on contracts. That and picking up Mezsaros makes me think it is Coburn gone, if anyone.
