Morris wouldnt have come here. He makes his home in Phoenix. I understand the frustration but Morris' contract isnt a fair comparable.

How many solid players have chosen to play in Carolina?? (top 6 forwards and top 4 dmen). Seems like guys are always forced to come here via trade then fall in love with it and want to stay. We are never on anyones radar as an organization they would like to play for.

But keep getting your panties in a bunch over nothing. Whatever makes you feel better.
I really don't need you "telling" me anything. I'm very glad you feel so strongly about comments like this, but it's your opinion. You can state it as fact on a message board if you want, scream it from the roof of the RBC Center if you want, but that doesn't make it true.

I think what I'm asking, if you could phrase your opinions as opinions and not try to be the authoritative voice of the board. I know you know everything, and you know you know everything, so I hope that's enough for you, and you don't have to keep trying to prove it to everybody else.

Lydman to Anaheim...

Harrison- McBain wasn't bad in AHL but imo if McBain plays in NHL, he must be on pairing with Gleason or Joni. Everything else - pathetic choice.

I dunno but i think Sangs will make team and will play with Harrison on bottom pairing.

I just want to be the first one to quote this.

Without a doubt it's gonna be quoted again, very soon...

That pairing would be such a disaster, IMO, but it seems very likely.

I like it. Short term and cheap. If we have a coach that seriously plans on using Babchuk against other teams top units, maybe we need to bomb another season so JR can realize how bad Mo can be. But I have a little more faith in him than that. But we'll see. Next season is still quite far away, and we still have a full offseason to make some noise (As little as it may be).

Why? Because one can skate, one can't and neither can play defense? Pshhh, some people.

Carolina's free agency approach strikes me as the last guy at the bar with all the drunk 3's walking up like, "Are you drunk enough to go home with me?".

True..but in all honesty..this is not at all unexpected (this year especially with all the talk of the overall budget)

Most on this board were clamoring for one (or both) of Brindy or Samsonov to be gone: Check

Many on this board were begging for Whitney to NOT be brought back: Check

Many on this board were pleading with JR to not sign any aging veterans so the kids could get a shot: Check.

NONE of us would have wanted Cullen back at 3.5M / year and a NTC: Check

The only thing that would have been reasonably expected from JR this FA period would have been to get a top 4 DMAN so we didn't have to enter the season with both McBain and Babchuk in our top 4..and maybe a cheap 3rd line center. (I still think he will sign Carson when all is said and done). From what I can tell, with the exception of bringing in a top 4 Dman, JR did exactly what many were asking for this off-season.

I still think the team is going to suck next year (too much youth/transition), but in 2-3 years, I think they can be a force. I'm ok with that as long as JR follows that plan.

Well said.

But really I'm just happy we get to argue about Anton Babchuk for another year.

i am afraid this could be a very ugly year-we have 2 dmen with significant reps and experience plus thin on experience on the front line that with a couple of- injuries to the wrong guys and we will look like a JV team-def going to be able to see what these kids really are this year.. very important some of the guys coming of age step up plus osala the 1 guy with size needs to rea..lly come thru-if staal gets hurt we are going to really look like a bunch of smurfs.

How's casey borer coming along? If it weren't for a rash of crazy injuries, I think he was going to be a solid d-first guy. But I haven't really heard much about how he's come back from said injuries and what that's done to his prospects.
