I heard this Stepan kid is decent... Think we can get a pick for him?

I'm really looking forward to this kid play, by all accounts he is a good player & a good locker room guy. Can't wait to see how he does in training camp this season.

I think McGuire actually really likes Stepan, along with the other pieces the Rangers have coming (Kreider, Grachev, etc.).

He was none too pleased with our 1st round pick this year, though.

Not sure if it was posted yet, but according to capgeek Stepan has a $820,833 cap hit on his ELC.

So basically, Stepan has to beat out Christensen to be the top line center on this team. My money is on him doing it.

I wouldn't bet money on that.

Even though he is only a stop-gap player, Christensen has shown he can play decently with Gaborik, and it would be unlike the Rangers to throw a guy right into the fire without giving him some minor league seasoning.

IMO, Stepan would absolutely have to blow away the coaching staff to earn a spot, I just don't see room for him right now.

Really? McGuire loves our prospects. It's our FA's and organizational mentality that he bashes. He has every right to do that.

Wade Redden really is, in my opinion, the only anchor that is keeping this team from moving forward and making any significant progress, and turning this team around. If Redden is gone and Drury and Rozsival are not, id still think its a 180.

We're trying our best to stay competitive and keep the course kind of tip toeing around his 6.5 contract. Once that things gone its like... I dont even know, like being let off a prison sentence.

The moment he is gone, and we're all just waiting, it will be a party of mass proportions.

That he does but he bashed McIlrath pick and the way he carried on national television was downright embarrasing. Bob McKenzie didn't like our pick but yet he kept it in check.
