No...im in Edmonton. Just checkin in on the Leafs draft picks. Hope you'll be watching next year so I can get the goods.
I get to as many games as I can.I have been a season ticket holder for 10 years but I also coach high school hockey and I live 175 miles from Grand Forks.I usually make about 10-12 a year.
Looks like the Fighting Sioux nickname will be laid to rest for good.I really just wanted them to have the Standing Rock members vote on it.That's all that I ask.Tribal government is a run a totally different way than what we are used to.
Sad doesn't even begin to describe what a complete joke it is...
Good luck getting all the logos removed from the ralph.
The Ralph is privately owned. They don't have to do a damn thing with the logos if they don't want to and I hope they keep every last one of them up.So much for democracy in this country. The Tribal government reminds me of communism.Ya don't like our decisions that is just to damn bad.BS.
Its sad. Its ill timed. The name did not happen in the last few years.
I am guessing it was money driven? Nodak did not want to fork over and extra X$ and the tribe turned and said now they do not like the name?
But will the new name be?
The Standing Rock tribal council just cut their own throat.UND put a positive view on the Sioux and their people and now the council members are going to take it away.I really don't get it especially when I have never heard anything deragatory or abusive about their people or name.
I vote for the Fighting Calvary.
Nice to see former Sioux Dave Tippett win the coach of the year award tonite. Not a bad year for former Sioux with Toews getting MVP of the playoffs.
You know Toews was nothing without former Badger, Adam Burrish on the team All kidding aside, I knew Toews was going to be a big game player when I saw him on team Canada at the WJC back in the day. Thanks to Toews they renamed the Five Hole the Frazee Hole because of the way he lit up the once promising Goopher netminder at the WJC and in the NCAA. I'm pretty sure Toews single handedly derailed his career.

Future WCHA player to get selected in this years draft is Sioux recruit Derek Forbort at #15 to the LA Kings.Gopher recruit Bjugstad goes 19 to the Panthers.
Furture Sioux Brock Nelson is picked #30 and is going to the Islanders.

I don't see him on HEISENBERG'S site, but I guess he's not coming till 2011?
That would be correct. The Sioux wouldn't have room for him this fall. With Simpson,Forbort, and Nelson coming in and having only lost 2 seniors playing time for him would of been slim to none.
Nice to hear about the future netminder for the Sioux.
The Boston Bruins' director of amateur scouting commented on Zane Gothberg in this story: "We were really excited about Gothberg,” Wayne Smith said. "He’s a bankable kid for us. We have some goaltending depth right now that we’re very comfortable with. He has excellent quickness. We really like the kid’s character; we had him higher than where he went."

So what do you think? One year behind Eidsness and then take over?
What do you expect from Kristo this year? Is he going to lead the Sioux in scoring?
I would have to think so.I think he and Gregoire will be the top 2 guys but it won't be like they will be 10-15 points ahead of the next guy.The Sioux will have balanced scoring like they have had the last 2 years but I do believe Kristo will be leading the way.
