Philly/LA

Darren Dreger reports that a Blockbuster trade is in the works:

Dreger reports that Kovy wants to sign for 12 mil and a long term. He also says his wife wants to go to LA because of the good weather. So to clear cap for that contract he says if Kovy agrees to sign with LA this deal will happen Carter and Gagne for Kopitar, Brown, Quick and Jack Johnson. That will clear enough cap space to sign Kovy at 12 mil it will also leave the Flyers with 600k in space with all those players coming back. Once Kovy agrees to deal Flyers will pull the trigger on the trade and then Kovy will sign minutes after.

As for the 3 way thing he also reported that the Flyers will likely flip a d-man to Boston to make room for Jack Johnson. As for the justifications for trading Carter. Dreger said that they think Kopitar will be better and that Carter won't be the same player with his 2 broken feet. Kopitar is also younger. LA loves Kovy and will do this. Even if they are giving up a lot of key players. They think Kovy, Carts and Gags may fill that void

"Darren Dreger

Not sure who started this. I have not been on the radio, Fan 590, or anywhere else talking about a big trade. Someone's imagination at work "

That rumor has already been shot down by Dreger himself. It was some guy on hockeybuzz that made that up.

That deals is extremely in favor of the flyers and completely unrealistic. Not even homer would make that deal if he was in the LA GM's shoes.

Totally false as stated above.

That's basically Carter and Gags for the LA Kings.

thats no true. Keep in mind that LA would get Kovalchuk because of the deal. Plus Boston would ship LA something in return for our D-Man too.

I wonder what the reaction would be to:

Kopitar/Brown

for

Carter/Gagne

Kings wouldn't do it.

I guess Dreger reads Hfboards, because someone proposed that exact trade the other day on this board and we all laughed at them

I'd do cartwheels with a torn rotator cuff and not even blink. LA fans would not.

This is the exact same topic someone made the other day, and it's still retarded. Why would anyone actually believe this? Common sense, guys.

would pull the trigger on the deal immediately.

The kings would never give up Quick, kopitar, brown and johnson for carte and gagne and if they did we would have one of the biggest steals for a long time

We do have the pieces to add to that deal to make it work, if Homer is actually contemplating that. I mean, not for the other players but Brown and Kopitar.

LA has pieces to trade for Richards and Giroux as well as JVR. Does not mean we are trading them.
