I liked what I saw out of him in the playoffs and he could bring alot to the top line but I also really like having Enroth in the system incase something was to happen to Miller. Bottom line though is his persistant Groin and Head injuries scare me to much to get excited about the possibility of a deal like this. I'd pass.
I'd do it but I guess I wonder why the Flyers would - Enroth even less of a proven commodity than either Leighton or Boucher. For all of the goalie issues the Flyers have had since Hextall retired, I can't believe that they'd want to go with yet another unknown in goal.
Besides, I had read in other reports that they wanted to deal Gagne to free up the $5M needed to sign either Turco or Nabokov...
whats with the belief that trades dont happen within conferences? it happens.. all the time..
ive also read on various twitters/sites that they dont necessarily want a goalie but would take a forward. it is more of a cap clearing move than a goalie landing move - their intention is to sign a goalie.
Gagne makes $5.2M (i think) and has 1 year left on his contract. Flyers will need to dump him to get a goalie, so it will likely only cost us a draft pick or prospect.
Great player to have if healthy, but the Sabres won't sign him because he's a big dollar player on a short contract and the HSBC is already full of fans. Sorry Sabres fans, but why would management spend extra cash to get the same result? We were a 100 point team last season, and as long as we are able to reach about 90 points this year, then we are likely in the playoffs where anything magical can happen.
