so Gagne vs STUFF + Zherdev + carcillo + space for a decent 12th (we are assuming cote is out lol)
so it really depends on what we get for gags, but it will be worth it...when it comes to resigning roo carter and leino

I don't think he was complaining about trading Gagne. You just seem to downplay Gagne's heart/work ethic. We're talking about the guy who played through an intense amount of pain in the playoffs -- including one of the ballsiest moments I've seen in Game 4 OT against Boston.

If he is 4 mil plus and Gagne gets dealt I won't be happy. I can't see it being too much less than $3 though or he'd just stay in Russia would he not? Soft doesn't matter over there.

I definitely don't want Gagne to be traded, but if it meant Turco I'd deal with it at this point.
Knowing Homer, instead he'll deal him for a mediocre prospect and a 5th, and with the cap space sign Zherdev @ 3M for 4 years, Carcillo @ 1.2M for 5 years, and Powe @ $1M for 2 years.
It they sign him for 4M he's definitely Lupul 2.0. Of course being that he is 6'2" and 195 he is "small" according to some people
Anyway, another example of the Flyers running a halfway house for players with a questionable past. At least he won't be a member of the retirement home for NHL players we also run. At 2.5M he's palatable given that he would replace Gagne at least from an offensive perspective. The guy can get 20 goals pretty easily...not sure how many he'll prevent.

I might be as pro-Russian as it gets and I would HATE this deal. The guy has shown nothing but being a lazy player. Regardless of talent, this guy doesnt have a good head on his shoulders. When he played with Fedorov in Columbus, Fedorov said something along the lines to the media that he couldnt make this kid find his way, no matter how hard he tried. And for a guy like Zherdev to look up to Fedorov growing up, and not to be able to change his style, that might tell you something about the way he is.
Im not for this move at all, considering our cap space issue as it stands. But if it happens, I really do hope that Zherdev got his act together while in Russia because I know Flyers fan, and they wont tolerate his bull****.

That being said, thinking about Zherdev I wouldnt be mad at all. Lavy doesnt play around with that ****. IF Zherdev wants to be lazy he will sit. Lavy doesnt care. Thats why I love our new coach. People said the same thing with Leino with how he was lazy. Lavy made sure he wasnt lazy.

all im saying is gagne tends to give up on play when it get physical, but hes fast so he backchecks well, and makes it look easy. but if he gets bumped, and needs to hold the puck or fight for it. he just says "eff it...not worth a concussion"
thats actually what i REALLY liked about carter in the playoffs, he was physical as hell (for him) and was starting to throw hits and use his size to help him.
gagne isnt like overtly lazy...hes just not the hardest worker on our team, hes about even with carter.
IDK, can't tell. It's hard to have a lazy-off to determine a winner.
I do not think he is lazier. However, Murray did have a problem with him last season. Even benched him for a game or two. At the same time, if you were Frolov multiple X 30 goal scorer would you be interested playing on LA Kings 3rd lline.
