Senators sign Corey Locke. (SensChirp)

Quote:
The word out there today is that the Ottawa Senators have signed former Ottawa 67's star Corey Locke to a contract. Still looking for confirmation on this.

If true, he should provide some added depth down in Bingo. Locke is coming off an 85 point season with the Hartford Wolfpack of the AHL.
And in the comment section.

Quote:
Yup still looking for rock solid confirmation on it but it's coming from a solid source.
I wikipedia this guy and he seems to have some really good stats, it seems that his size is the factor.

Ryan Shannon v2. Depth and skill for the AHL club, nothing wrong with that.

Sweet signing.

It's not only size that's a factor, but speed as well. He's not that fast for a small guy. He's no ryan shannon when it comes to skating. Although his offense is way better than shannon.

If this is true, this is an awesome signing for Binghamton. Corey Locke is one of the better players in the AHL. He might have been an all-star last year...i'm not 100% sure on that though.

Locke was a stud when he played for the 67's. Think he won MVP twice as well.

Should provide some much needed firepower up front!!!

Great signing if true!!

Great for Bingo. I remember loving him back in his 67's days.

This. Locke has superb offensively skills. If only he could improve his skating a little bit more...

I've always loved Locke. I've followed his career since he left the 67's. Hopefully if he gets a call up with us his equipment will actually show up this time.

It's still just a rumour. He seems pretty confident in the rumour, but it should still be taken for what it is. Sens Chirp gets a bad rep from people who take his rumours as fact.

Wow. He had a $275K salary in the AHL last season. Can't wait to see what he signed for, if it's anywhere near that same amount, hopefully it will put an end to those Binghamton whinners about the Murrays not spending money on AHL vets, yet somehow, I have a strong suspicion they'll come up with something else to complain about.

I hate to agree, but this is a constant attitude with the majority of sens fans too - they focus on the negative all the time. Clearly not every sen fan is like this, but man o man, the last few years on these boards especially - one complaint after the other. It gets to the point where I can barely stomach coming to these boards - hence the low amount of comments in my 4 years here.

And, for the record, Locke is good signing.

Like father, like son?

Ive heard the name before and have seen him a few times, nothing that sticks, but im all for depth signings and making our AHL team better.
