If the NHL re-did the 2008, 2009 and 2010 drafts tomorrow..

Based on a MSN chat I had about Eberle, MPS and Hall, if the last 3 drafts were re-done, where would these three guys land? It's obvious Hall would still be #1 as that draft has just passed, so I'm more interested in the other two. We got on the conversation when I said "Edmonton basically got 3- top 10 draft picks in the last 3 years.

The way I see it...

Hall- #1
MPS- #7 (ahead of Kadri, Cowan and Glennie)
Eberle- #9

So if these 3 drafts were re-done, would all 3 players be gone by the 10th pick?

edit: I tried to go back and add the poll that I intended to add, but no luck. Sorry guys, I screwed up, It's been a really tough week for me. First my Rhinestone belt buckle got stolen, then my cell phone screen got dirt under the protective plastic, and there's air bubbles now. My girlfriend over-cooked my chicken stir fry, and I don't even have a girlfriend. So back off, it's really tough for me, and all you can think about is a stupid poll!!!

2008 is tough and 2010 was just done.

It's debatable but this is how I'd see 2009 playing out...

2009
1. Tavares
2. Duchene
3. OEL
4. Hedman
5. MPS
6. Kane
7. Schenn
8. Kulikov
9. Kadri
10. Ellis

Getting Eberle at 22 was insane looking back now. I think Pitlick will be seen similarly. I think hes very talented and should have gone much higher.

MPS in 09' I would take at no. 9, in front of Glennie but Kulikov replaces Cowan.

Eberle? Probably at no. 10, behind the original top-5, Mayers, Sbisa, Del Zotto, Ennis and Carlson.

2008? Assuming all the trades went down the same...

I guess it's hard to say, because how do you compare a guy like Josh Bailey - who has NHL numbers, but not great ones - to a guy like Eberle - who hasn't proven he's an NHLer yet, but may have some magical upside?

Stamkos, Doughty, Myers go 1-2-3. Bogosian or Del Zotto to St. Louis. After that? I dunno. Most would probably put Wilson and Karlsson there before Eberle, I think.

I don't know if I would, but most would. I suspect you did, along with Bailey, largely on the grounds that they've played in the NHL already. Looking at the Pats record with vs without Eberle, the WJC heroics, the recent CHL trophy... Toronto probably goes for Wilson instead of Schenn. I'd say Eberle would get snapped up by Columbus right after that, but if not wouldn't fall past Phoenix at 8.

Hall would still be #1, Paajarvi at 5 or 6th and Eberle in the top 8.

If I could redo the past four drafts, I would say that Edmonton has come away with four solid top 10 selections. This doesnt even include Hemsky (13th overall 2001), Whitney (5th overall 2002), Smid (9th overall 2004), Brule (6th overall 2005), Cogliano (25th overall 2005) and Petry (45th overall 2006):

3. Erik Gudbranson
4. Cam Fowler
5. Brandon Gormley
6. Jeffrey Skinner
7. Ryan Johansen
8. Nino Niederreiter
9. Vladamir Tarasenko
10. Austin Watson

Later Rounds: Tyler Pitlick, Martin Marincin, Curtis Hamilton, Ryan Martindale & Brandon Davidson

2009:
1. John Tavares
2. Victor Hedman
3. Matt Duchene
4. Oliver Ekman-Larsson
5. Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson <-Edmonton
6. Evander Kane
7. Dmitri Kulikov
8. Brayden Schenn
9. John Moore
10. Dylan Olsen

Later Rounds: Anton Lander, Toni Rajala, Olivier Roy

2008:
1. Steven Stamkos
2. Drew Doughty
3. Tyler Myers
4. Erik Karlsson
5. Zach Bogosian
6. Alex Pietrangelo
7. Michael Del Zotto
8. Jacob Markstrom
9. Cody Hodgson
10. Jordan Eberle <-Edmonton

Later Rounds: Johan Motin, Philippe Cornet, Teemu Hartikainen

2007:
1. Patrick Kane
2. James Van Riemsdyk
3. Sam Gagner <-Edmonton
4. Jakub Voracek
5. Karl Alzner

This is almost exactly as how I think it will turn out. I would just put Ellis at 7, Schenn at 9 and Kadri at 10. Other than that, it seems good.
