why does this offseason have to be such a roller coaster ride?!
At least if he had waived it, and the zherdev rumors were true - would make space to sign turco perhaps as well... now I have no clue what's going to happen.
I thought about it, and technically he would waive it after a deal is made, so perhaps he said he would waive, but never technically did because there was no official deal made...
Good. Maybe Flyers will move Carle and Carcillo for picks and prospects. Which does make sense because we signed a very similar player in Andrej Meszaro.
Shelley will somehow replace Carcillo. Now Zherdevs rumors looks better.
Or maybe Flyers waive Cote & Boucher, trade Carle and Carcillo and sign Turco and add Zherdev?

I like that line up, the top 9 looks deadly but the bottom pairing D as well as the double pooper with cheese in net scares the daylights out of me, best hope we can win alot of games 4-3, and 5-4....

Bottom paring is ok for regular season. not perfect but ok. We should be fine and if Bart or O'Donnell suck we'll maake a move at the dead line. Our top 4 is still one of the best in the league.

Whether Gagne waived it or not, someone in the media should have a high-ranking member of management (Holmgren) on record discussing the matter. It is why all this innuendo emanating from various sources, on different topics, is simply internet fodder and nothing more until and unless the team is on record. If the Flyers approached Gagne and he refused, that is different than if he was never asked. The matter needs to be cleared in a public forum. msE5.
I don't know about this, I feel like Gagne is just saying that because technically he hasn't waived it yet. If he just waives it and tells Holmgren to go wild, then he could end up somewhere that he has no desire to play. The Flyers and Gagne are probably in the process of putting a list of suitable teams/trading partners together and when a deal with one of those teams is made THEN he will waive his NTC.

agreed on that Kaktus, should be ok for the most part during the regular season, just hope we don't have a significant injury in the top 4 for any extended periods of time.
1980's hockey... didn't we reach 3 cup finals that decade?? and if there's any bit in history repeating itself we lost the 79-80 final 4 games to 2, much like the 09/10 final 4-2... .....

Talking hockey on the internet has been much more wagging of the dog than actual news. The reporters make (up) the news now, rather than sources or the subjects of their articles.

I doubt you're going to get that confirmation. What I think is going on?
1) Flyers asked Gagne if he would waive his NTC (perhaps a team or two was mentioned).
2) Gagne said he was open to that, situation depending.
So, he hasn't "waived" his NTC, but will for the right situations. I think it was ASF that said that the Flyers have asked Gagne and his agent to poke around (who knows if they will) and provide the Flyers with some options where he might be willing to go.
