Good deal. He's way better than Ference.

That was one of the worst decisions PC has made. It will come back to haunt the team, just like how signing Ryder to 4, Sturm to 3.75, and Thomas to 5 are putting the Bruins in cap hell right now.

This has been the best offseason for PC, he's finally starting to understand how to build a contender. Hopefully he doesn't re-up Ryder or Sturm next offseason...

Great signing for the Bruins. I always liked Stuart. He's a pretty solid stay at home defenseman and he's fairly cheap.

The few games I seen him play out here in the west, dude is a warrior in front of his goalie, a good nasty piece of business.

Only a year though?

More years would have been more dough. He's going to be a great signing for someone in a year.

With Sturm and Ryder gone after next year, I bet he gets a nice extension before 4-1-11 if the Bruins are still interested...

Sick value in this deal for Boston. This loosens up their cap issues just a bit.

I agree with the sentiment that, hopefully, the expiring contracts will allow for a longer extension next season. Stuart is really helping them out by taking a very minor raise.

So the Bruins still have Seguin and Wheeler to sign?

Looks like Wheeler is on his way out of town me thinks.

FAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! Always liked Stuart's game. That's a steal of a signing. Wish he were on the Canes for that price.

i heard the Ference signing was a gesture of good will towards Chara, since Ference and him are buddies and the Bruins want to extend Chara soon. that said it was still horrible cause aint worth close to what he got

He's strong in front of the net and a solid stay-at-home type, but he plays no special teams at all, has no offense and plays 3rd pairing minutes most nights. Useful player but not one you lock up long term. Maybe he'd be better for a coach that will use him more
