Corey Locke signed by the Senators

I know that this is of no big whoop for us but it's interesting to see that he may, this fall, be playing against the team that drafted him - us.

I hope the best for him. I had hopes for him at the time even though I was aware that he would be challenged by his skating issues.

He was the CHL player of the year once and the OHL player of the year another time in his junior career. Pretty good talent. He did well when he was with the Bulldogs but his skills just didn't seem to translate at the NHL level.

His contract is a two-way contract for two years. I hope he makes the bigs this time.

For those of you who read French, here's the link:

I hope he gets to play, that'd be neat to see. He's only played 4 NHL games, so maybe he just hasn't had a long enough stint to adjust. I wouldn't even care that much, he was our 4th rounder.. meh

I hope he gets a spot with the senators, if only to make them worse.

I remember when he beat Corey Perry in the OHL scoring race. He plummeted in the draft to the......4th round, I want to say? And everyone on HF at the time lost their MF'n minds as to how the guy who won the OHL scoring race could drop so far in the draft. It was the 03 draft, so it was really deep. But the way he has bounced around, it goes to show the scouts had the right idea.

I dont know much about this guy... there was only no space for him. To small for the Habs... we already have our dwarf.

P.S .... Habs are demonstrating some difficulties to draft.

For real?? get a clue

Taking the OHL scoring leader in the 4th round seems pretty reasonable

If they took him in the 1st or 2nd maybe you would have reason to cry, but this is just idiotic. You'll fit in well here thanks for joining, macsimm.

Would it be unrealistic to say desharnais will end up same way?

I remember during training camp when Carbo said he played better than Ribeiro. Ribs was traded days after.

No, but I am not sure he will.

Locke got by on pure skill until he reached a level where he couldn't. He didn't really adapt.

Desharnais has shown an ability to adapt his game to each level he's faced and then use that to dominate.

Just watching the two play, I'd say both are huge long shots, but Desharnais has a better chance of making it.

You do realize he might get to play against the team that drafted him (the Habs) no matter where he signed in the NHL! It's kinda how the league works. No big whoop.

What's worse, the guy who posts a thread about a former Hab player or the guy who posts in the thread making fun of it?

You don't care, don't comment.

I didn't know I was obsessed...

I'd better be careful not to tell you how much I kind of like red shoes.

Really, the reason for it was simply as information and for an 'oh... that's kind of interesting" factor.

As I stated in my opening post, I had hopes for Locke but, there you go... it didn't work out.

Brett Clarke didn't mean much to me because he didn't have as much promise as Locke did based upon native talent.
