I'm fine with this. Gives us some depth and he's gone after this year. If McD is ready, Eminger goes to Hartford.

Why would a swap of spare parts in which the Rangers take on salary indicate that "more is to come"?

The Rangers added their 6th/7th D in Eminger. $1.125 million cap hit.$1.5 million salary. Larry Brooks wrote about Sather looking to add a 6/7 D

6th year of the CBA and people still don't know cap numbers and salaries

Voros is making $900,000.

Anaheim saves $600,000 in the deal and picks up Hillier who can't make Hartford

I think I'm actually going to miss Voros, in a way. He sucked, but he gave a **** and tried hard.

Eminger started playing upwards of 20 minutes a game toward the end of the season with the Ducks. He didn't look too bad from what I saw of him. He is fine for around 1 mil as a 6 or 7 dman

True, but a 3rd year with all heart and no production would drive most fans insane...otoh Cally has more heart and can score 20.

Eh wish we couldve sent The Don. I like Aaron. He's a good guy, works hard, and not to mention very good friends with Lundqvist, Avery, and Gabby. Not complaining though. I like that we finally have a 7th D tho. Makes Redden making the team even more of a long shot.

This is the same fan base which thought Dan Girardi was expendable when Brian Fahey was traded for Nigel Williams

You can't make it up

Good solid move by Sather. Eminger is a solid #7 defenseman who still has some upside. He could play 30-40 games easily to spell some of the younger defensemen if need be.

I liked Voros. GL to him in Anaheim. Overall, just a "meh" trade. Is this guy physical? Is he decent at actually playing D? I see the points are decent for GP.

I guess some news is better than none, though.

This is not a precursor to another defenseman being traded. Eminger is pure depth. the #7 guy we've been looking for who will probably split time with Gilroy.

Anyway, great deal unloading Voros on somebody and actually getting back a semi capable player.

Lol. The trade for Eminger is not a precursor to trading Rozy. Eminger is a bottom pairing d-man who is not capable of logging minutes like Rozy does.

This was a trade that got rid of a player that was of little use to the team and added some depth to our defense. If a d-man gets injured this season, they will no longer have to rely on an inexperienced rookie from Hartford to take his place.

Rozsival is at the least serviceable and only has 2 years left on his contract. I doubt it.

im wondering if this is the end of Redden.

youve got Staal, Rozsival, Girardi, Gilroy, MDZ, and presumably a spot for a kid with Eminger as your #7.

I guess it depends on if a kid cant make the jump yet or not.
