I'm also moderately skeptical of Turco at 2 million. We offered him 2 million a year for 3 years and he refused. Now, it may be more appealing at 1 year as opposed to 3, and his market is dwindling, but I'd be surprised if Turco took 2 million at this point in time. If this goes on for another few weeks, he may eventually settle on it, but I'm not so sure.
Eh, the writing is kind of on the wall for 'em. I understand why he'd turn down the original offer prior to July 1st... just to see what was out there (I also think he expected SJ to make an offer). Now... he's sort of gotta take what he can get. Of all the things Homer has done thus far, the signing of Leighton prior to July 1st remains the most perplexingly idiotic.

When you're best LW winger is Jason Smyth, I think they
need help.

He scored at a 0.8 ppg pace last year, that's better than Gagne did.

(Even if he benefited from Kopitar's ridiculous season)

And I think you mean Ryan Smyth

Sure, but you're not going to give up a ton for a guy on an expiring contract with a history of concussion and groin problems. Just a bad trade to make.

Regarding his thoughts on the 1 year deal:

@NYfan1610 @nelush I think it will be between $2m and $3m.

It might be headed in that direction. I'd just be surprised if he would accept that as of this moment. In a few weeks, perhaps, if it becomes very desparate.

If anyone's best winger is Jason Smith they have VERY serious issues.

Joks aside though I can see them being interrested. Ryan isn't getting any younger either.

I heard awhile back Zherdev was okay with signing a cheap 1 year deal, to prove himself. Lets hope it is very cheap.

I really hope we dont trade Gagne for him though. Trade Carle or Hartnell before Gagne

I do not see why he deserves 2.5 or even 2 million.

The most he should get is last year Afinogenovs salary maybe X by 2.

Oops, thanks, I was not focused. How long will this drag out, I mean Gags or whoever they move to create space has to have some value. With his bad head injury maybe teams are flying in specialists to go over him with a fine toothed comb prior to making a trade.
Off topic but did you know Hoegaarden is pronounced [who] [gar] [den]? It actually tells you how to pronounce it on the individual six packs.
