For anyone, like me, who didn’t catch Shea’s interview with Mark Howard yesterday morning on 104.5, they have posted a podcast of it on the front page of their website.

http://www.1045thezone.com/

I don’t think I’ve ever heard Shea more relaxed and talkative in an interview. His comments about a contract extension have to make any Preds fan happy, I would think.

At the time I renewed my season tickets this spring, if someone had asked me why, I would've summed up my reason in two words – Hörnqvist, Wilson. Watching those two young forwards develop last season was the highlight for me and gave me hope for the future. The moves the Preds have made this offseason, including making Shea captain, give me more reasons to be glad I renewed.

Thanks for the link to the radio interview.

As excited as the fans are about signing Matthew Lombardi, I think it is even more important to the players--- as an indicator of the future of the team and commitment by ownership/management.

Congrats to Shea

Okay, first of all, and i mean no disrespect by this, but I never thought that the Nashville Predators board would be the one to inspire me to officially sign up and leave a post... but that's how much I love Shea Weber. (Sorry, I guess there's no way for that to not sound like a backhanded compliment.)

And quite frankly, I think the Preds have one of the top 4 GMs in the league. Unlike Glen Sather and his empty claims from his Edmonton days, I do think Poile could put together something special if he had the budget for it.

Back to Weber though. Naming him captain is... would it be over-the-top for me to say "epic"? As a fan of the game, I have to say, I love the heart and grit Predators teams exhibit. A lot of the time, its not pretty, but the workmanlike diligence counts for something in my book, and Weber is the face of that from what I've seen. I hope this helps in locking him up for a long time.

To whomever said he's the next Scott Stevens, that's blasphemy to me, but Weber is pretty damn close.

I was lucky enough to be at the Olympics and at one game, I saw him break the glass in the first first period, and rip a hole THROUGH THE NET in the second. If only he broke someone's leg with that slapshot, then I could coin the phrase "Shea Weber hat trick."

This move has made me decide that one of my hockey trips this year will be to a Predators game. There's a lot of good Saturday match-ups I'm thinking about (Hawks, Kings, Wings, Yotes, Avs)... Any of you locals have a recommendation based on rivalry which games are typically "sure things" for an exciting battle?

Thanks in advance and best of luck this year. Weber Mancrush Over.

Well he has hurt numerous players with his shot before. He broke Erats foot or leg I dont remember but it was during the playoff race and it was a big reason we fell short of the playoffs the season before last. I suggest a Chicago game because I know those are going to be awesome to watch. Or Detroit, those never fail and they usually are some of the best games to see each year.

Well, if we have to go with a Canuck, we could do a lot worse than Shea Weber.

Congratulations big Shea! You'll be a great Predators captain.

And I'm sure several of our other guys, such as Suter, were given big consideration as well. We have a lot of good people and competitors as Preds. Go team!

Is there anyone in the world (besides maybe Lilja) who DOESN'T love Shea Weber? Weber is the most BA captain we've ever had...I think we should start posting Chuck Norris-esque quotes about him.

Shea Weber doesn't daydream. He's too busy giving other people nightmares.

Shea Weber doesn't read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.

Some people wear Superman pajamas. Superman wears Shea Weber pajamas.

So pumped about next year. This has to be the one summer where Poile has fulfilled every demand I had and totally exceeded my expectations. It's so fun to be excited about a much-improved team going into October!

The next Alien vs Predator movie will be Alien and Predator vs Shea Weber. Producers are worried whether people will pay to see a 20 second movie.

If at first you don't succeed, you're not Shea Weber.

Shea Weber; if he can't get the puck past you, he'll just put it THROUGH you.

Leading hand sanitizers claim they can kill 99.9% of germs. Shea Weber can kill 100% of whatever the **** he wants.

Shea Weber's dog is trained to pick up his own poop because Shea Weber will not take **** from anyone. (Or: They once made a Shea Weber toilet paper, but there was a problem...it wouldn't take **** from anybody.)

Shea Weber once ordered a Big Mac at Burger King, and got one.

Hahaha it would be hilariously awesome if tons of people had posters with various Weber/Chuck Norris facts on opening night, priceless!

Shea Weber doesn't do push ups. He pushes the Earth down.

The magic word is "please", as in "please do not kill me!" It's a shame Shea Weber doesn't believe in magic.

Every year on his birthday Shea Weber chooses one lucky child to slapshot into the Sun.
