No, but it's a direct kick at the top of the box and Spain goes down to 10 men for the rest of the game (including "overtime", obviously) if it happens... that's why I said "likely", and not "guaranteed". Not to mention that if it goes to penalty kicks, Puyol wouldn't be available, which isn't exactly something to completely disregard.

I hope Spain loses.

They take diving to a whole new level. It's sickening.

It's kind of getting to me, too. It's not even the frequency of embellishment, it's the incredible writhing in agony that results from every single challenge.

How the hell do you miss the deflection by the wall? How can you really miss it?

Honestly, hockey refs can't be alone in their "worst refs of any sport" category.

It's ridiculous, which is why I never watch soccer, other than the world cup...

I hope Iniesta breaks his legs and can't play anymore.

That dive for the red card was an absolute disgrace to sportsmanship. Robben gets penalized for staying on his feet and continuing the play while the Dutch take that red card because that ***************** flops around like a freshly caught fish.

I'm done with soccer outside the EPL. It's so anti-climactic to see teams not trying to outplay the other, but get them booked to win, end up with the grand prize. I feel like puking right now.

This. Deflection was quite obvious. This ref is in charge of making all the right calls he can make in the Finals and he misses such an obvious deflection. This game was higly diasappointing.

For somebody that "green" as far as soccer is concerned, how's the EPL any different? Less diving?
