I would not read too much into that. It is lip service to the media. I am sure the player would be enthusiastic to play for the KHL over the AHL. He cleared waivers so Sutter really holds all the cards there...

Kotalik wasn't bought out, so he's not actually a $4M headache.

I think a lot hinges on Langkow. If he goes to LTIR at the start of the year, I bet Kotalik starts the season.

why did the trade happen in the first place.Could have just resigned Jokinen in the off season and not have Koyalik and his contract for a few years?????

after trade
Jokinen 4-11=15pts prust 4-5=9pts
Higgins 2-1=3pts Kotalik 3-2=5pts.

Can we waive Sutter..maybe someone will pick him up

Those point totals like pretty sad considering Higgins AND Kotalik combined had less points then a supposed 4th liner in Prust.

Hopefully no more knee-jerk reactions

Maybe an assistant GM at the time would have told Sutter to consider letting all 30 teams know Dion was on the table.

Or maybe not to trade an expiring contract on a guy who's a solid player and wants to be here for an annual cap hurt that doesn't just to get a slight upgrade on Prust...

maybe but mostly because he panicked and tried to save his jobs...this along with Staois and even Phanuef were desperation deals.

Funny thing is nothing happened to him after the team missed the playoff....he probably has an idiot for a boss

People need to cut the guy some slack. Yeah, he didn't play well for us while he was here, but half the guys on this team lost it in the last 15 games or so. Hell, Iggy had 1 goal in his last 14 games of the season. I wouldn't mind seeing him back, assuming Langkows cap doesnt effect us while he's injured. Give him a chance, see if he can turn it around.

Ok ill admit I sould have said something smarter.

its just at 3 million he probably will be nothing more then a 3rd line winger(we already have Moss and Glencross as well) and I believe we could use the cap space to resign Ian White.
