No that means the team told him how much they were willing to pay him, but he didn't agree. Foligno walked away without giving a counter offer hoping the Sens come back to him offering more money eventually... or so I've heard.

I'm hoping for the best with Wick, but the amount of hype on these forums is ridiculous.

This is important, since barring 1 or 2 injuries, he's likely to start on the 4th line (if he makes the big club at all).

You've got to play that "grinding" kind of game if your linemates are Winchester, Smith, Foligno, etc.

My take is that Ruutu - Kelly - Neil is our 4th line and none are being shopped/moved. If we have any openings it will be on the 3rd line. That said we may also see some shuffling to make a 2a - 2b type combination.

I wouldn't be so sure of this, especially with Ruutu entering the last yr of his contract after a career yr in scoring. He could have value in a trade, afterall Z. Smith is ready to challenge for a roster spot & he can play LW or C.

I hear what you're saying and I wouldn't be opposed to Smith taking Ruutu's spot. It's just a feeling I have that Murray REALLY likes Ruutu - Kelly - Neil as a 4th line and is really hesitant to make any changes there. Just a feeling...

I am trying to stay level headed and calm about our prospects this year but it is hard to stay that way. I feel like we are so "under the radar" and I am stoked for the start of camp!!!!

I wouldn't be surprised to see one of Michalek or Kovalev not ready to start the season and have one of our young guys step up and take a spot away from either guy. There are just so many guys with a chance now and you have to believe that the odds dictate that at least one (Smith, Cowen, Butler, Wick, Wiercioch, Lehner, Gryba) of them will make it. This can only lead to good things down the road.

last time he was in a sens camp, he was softer than ryan whitney. He's probably going to need some time in the AHL.

Does he become a UFA after this year?

Definitely will be interesting to see if he can make the big club or how he adapts to the NA rink and style with Bingo.

Doubt he makes the team out of camp. Should be one of the first callups though...

Alright thanks. Was wondering if he signed a 1 year so he could be a UFA next and sign with some team who could give him a more permanent spot

Would be disappointing if he was to tear it up with some other team who gives him a spot rather than make him earn it.
