Bottom 6 guys are the ones who play against the opponent's top lines. What would a 5'6" offensively gifted Desharnais do against a 6'3" Spezza, how would his offensive skills serve him playing with guys like Moen and Lapierre? If a top centerman gets hurt Maybe we would see Eller on the top 6 and Desharnais called up for 3rd line duties, but Trotter would probably get the spot ahead of Desharnais.

In Martin's system, the Habs top lines play against the opponent's top lines.

It's crazy how much blinded are Habs fans when we are talking about a player from Quebec.... Will this thread be created if he was from British Columbia or New York?

I don't like players from North America...only Euros...especially Russian. If Desharnais was Russian he'd make the team.

Yes, the kid is talented and could help in 5 vs 5.

You should create a thread "Bring back all of our losing bet" you could include Higgins, Locke, maybe S.Kostytsin !

Plekanec's or Gomez's line were playing against the best in the playoffs.

I'm well aware of Desharnais stature, but he's an intelligent play who, in the past and in other leagues, made up for his 5foot6.

I think he deserves a shot. If he can't, so long.

I expect him to see more time with the Habs, but not sure if he will make it full time. We'll have to see how guys like Eller, Engqvist, White, Pacioretty, Trotter etc... do at camp. He was so impressive in Hamilton this year, I think he's noticeably better then Trotter but he doesn't have to clear waivers and Trotter does so that could play against him.

He's not soft, will go to the dirty areas to score, doesn't back down either. He has great vision, playmaking abilities, works hard in his own end although his lack of strength can be a problem at times trying to contain bigger, stronger players but the effort is always there. Just knows how to put points on the board, but the fact that he doesn't have that "extra" gear hurts his chances imo.

He was great this year. Put it this way, he missed 20 games this year and still broke the record for points by a Hamilton player.

Desharnais is one of our most skilled prospects, so no matter where he's from there should be a thread about him when he's signed. Besides, what else is there to talk about right now?
