Oh... You're also the guy who accused me of wanting Alexandre Giroux to sign a 2-way contract with the Habs just because he has a French name. I see the pattern here...

Avtsin is the perfect type of player for a high reward, high risk (that he doesn't pan out) scenario. Leblanc will make the nhl, whether as a 1st or 4th liner.

This.
How is avtsin high risk? He was a 4th rounder.

I finally choose Tinordi.

The video of him at the prospect camp convince me. His skating is really good for a 6 ft 6 kid.
His stick work is also good for an 18 years old.

"High risk, high reward" means that a player has a high risk of being a bust, but that he could also turn out to be an all-star.

I believe Maxwell earns no respect, he is my choice (close with Leblanc).

Add Ian Schultz

Enough said, you wanting Giroux should be just enough to /thread !!!!
You are not helping your case out here. Actually you are helping out mine. Thanks
Leblanc can't even tear up an ivy league. The only thing he has going for him is his name and people like you ! You will be so disappointed in a couple of years.

The Canadiens are in deep trouble if a fourth line player is in the top 5 prospects.
Tom Pyatt has put up great offensive numbers every level he has played. Last year was his first in the L, and he showed he is already a great checking line player. And there is still the upside he could be a complimentary second liner...

I don't think his upside (neither offensively nor in terms of "checking") is as high as a Downie or Avery, and many people would hesitate before paying them the honour of calling them "complimentary second liners".

edit: And Engqvist must appear before long. I see Dumont, Nattinen and Desharnais already...

Tinordi, 3rd time in a row for me. I haven't seen him at all like most people here ; but I like what I've heard, like the bloodlines, liked his demeanor and quiet workman-like ambition, the fact that we traded up for him in a year where we had few picks makes me think our guys were really sold on him and that gives me hope

seen very very little of Leblanc and wasn't wowed

Leblanc for sure. I had him top 3.

Add Schultz. I really think he needs to be there before a guy like Quailer (Even though I like him) that hasn't played a game last season... except this exhibition one...!

I'd like to see Leblanc in Team canada just to compare him with other prospects skill-wise.

Well, it's not a surprise. The most anti-French and anti-Quebec people in Canadian history have always been... French speaking Quebecers!

So according to you, Leblanc won't be an NHL player, and Giroux will not have any success as a Oilers? You are talking as if it was a blatant fact... So since you know better, are you willing to bet on that?

I was just wondering if any of you know what Eller's contract is like. (Base Salary , years left on it , any bonus) I looked at nhlnumbers.com but he not listed but everyone seems to have him as a lock for a roster spot.

Maybe high risk wasn't the word I was looking for. But I meant risk in the way that there's a very good chance he ends up not being good. Of course picking him in the 4th was a very good decision.

This.

Tinordi's ceiling > Leblanc's ceiling. top-6 two-way centermen are great, but a 6'6'' nasty mother*****er with a great first pass and great skating, and leadership/NHL bloodlines are not falling off the sky. Especially knowing he could play with Subban in the near future for a long time, those two could very well be an improved version of Markov-Komisarek.
