Classic NHL Hockey.

Does anyone watch it?

I just finished watching the 1984 quarter final, Canadiens against the Nordiques.

Canadiens down 2 - 0 going into the 3rd and win the game 5 - 3.

Bench brawl at the end of the second and then again at the beginning of the 3rd.

It was an interesting game even though it was 21 years ago.

On what channel did you watch this on? I had a copy given to me by a friend recently, which he taped off of his Canadian based dish. What a classic comeback.

From what I recall, the two brawls were quite intense. Now, that I've finally watched it 21 years after the fact. The fighting didn't seem to be as bad. There were many guys (Naslund, Lafleur, Shutt, Mondou, Naslund) playing the role of peacemaker that evening. Whereas, others, like Nilan, M. Hunter, McPhee, Tremblay, Walter and Sevigny weren't so sedated.

A few weeks ago TSN showed the infamos seventh game from 1985. I did watch bits and pieces of it. If anything, just to remember the special atmosphere in the Forum that night. However, I refused to watch the OT. Peter Statsny! Arghhh!

I think it was on TSN this afternoon. I'm not positive though I was flicking through the channels and seen Classic NHL so I decided to look and it was that game so I had to watch it.

My 7 y/o son got right into it like it was a game on now. It was pretty funny. He jumped and yelled each time the habs scored.

You are so NOT a Habs fan.

By the way, is this the lame thread that no one cares about you were speaking of?

Yes it is.

Now I'm watching last year playoffs with Canadiens and Bruins.

It's actually on channel 421 on the Bell Express View. I think it's the NHL channels that you have to purchase.

I wish when they showed classic games they would show some of the original commercials and post game, intermission interviews etc.... Would add to it

That would be cool. I remember the '72 Canada-Russia series when they had TV commercials for TD Bank in Russian. Or when Tretiak was saying one thing during an interview while the Russian translator was saying another.
