and i think it's a bad idea, for the record.

I don't know what most of you guys are talking about, they are clearly our third line. Just look at their even strength TOS at the latter part of the season and playoffs.

I wouldn't say they are the best third line in the league but they were very solid and effective for us when needed.

Not enough offense to be a 3rd line.

Neil and ruutu are good for about 20 points each. That's 4th liners right there.

When neil was at his peak and got 33 points, and 17 goals(i think?) he was a 3rd liner. Now, getting 20 points, he's a 4th liner.

Ruutu has always been a 4th liner. He's good for 15-25 points...4th liner numbers.

The only true 3rd liner you have is kelly who can get 30-35 points.

So yes, it's a 4th line.

Ideally, you want your third line to have some offense as well and push for 30+ points each(if you are to be really strong team). The 4th line, is for guys who get 20 something points or less...like winchester, ruutu, neil etc. And guys like shannon who don't bring anything really, are your spares.

Talk is cheap but facts are facts. In the playoffs, the time of year that really matters according to most, which other third line put up 6g 7a in 6 games or 2.15pts per game?

FOURTH LINE. If they are our 3rd line than yikes! Offensive blackhole for a third line.

Unessecary title. But anyways, why not? Kelly and ruutu had great years and murray should explore his options

Most of their points came in game 1 did they not? beyond that they were still effective, but not nearly as offensive.

Oh. I was hoping there was somebody I hadn't heard about looking to make a splash on the fourth line. Unfortunately all we seem to have is Cody Bass who for whatever reason seems to be moving away from making it.

Two points:
1. They're the 4th line.
2. Did you happen to miss watching Hartnell-Briere-Leino?

Hartnell lead the SCF in goals (well, tied with Sharp) and Briere lead SCF A and SCF Pts (2 PPG).

If they are the 4th line, who exactly are the 3rd line? assuming everybody is healthy, you have one of Foligno or Regin, and a bunch of interchangeable spare parts.

Foligno-Belanger-Shannon/Winchester/Smith would be great 3rd line.

any reason to believe he's coming here? Even if he did, he is about the same quality player as Kelly at best.

That's what I don't get it. Why acquire Belanger when u have Kelly?
The guy is probably gone after this season anyway. He's been a good soldier for the Sens and i'd like to see him stay long term, he's probably just priced himself out of the organization.
