C: Josh Gorges
A: Brian Gionta
A: Andrei Markov

As late as the end of the regular season last year I would have said Gionta with Gorges getting an A...but Gorges' play during the playoffs has swayed me. I also like the idea of a 'lunch pail' type player getting the C for a while...it can go to a star player as soon as Subban is ready.

Cammalleri emerged as the captain during our playoff run. It should be him.

Martin said a few months ago that the team would named a captain before the draft.

Sorry but this guy isn't more reliable than Eklund...

Yeah but the CBC video just prove that Gorges was captain.....

My choice will be Gorges, Gionta or Markov (for respect). Gio will be a good choice, always give his 100%, like Gorges who give 250% lol

We've all looked into this and it's always come up as false. No one can actually confirm that Josh Gorges was in fact the captain of the Kelowna Rockets.

Interesting thing though, the opening day of the draft Josh Gorges was sitting at the Habs table.

It would be fine either way Gorges or Gionta. I like Gorges for the candidate, the guy is a warrior, he just doesn't quit.

Weber in Nashville was just given the C, Gorges played in Kelowna like Weber would be cool to see both of them promoted. Gorges just seems like a good fit, would be in the Habs long term vision, he is young, reliable, and he steps up and speaks in the lockerroom. The guy is a good guy on and off the ice. He competes as well.

It's either Gorges or Gionta.

Gorges - C
Gionta - A
Markov - A

Gionta - C
Gorges - A
Markov - A

Pierre Gauthier need to give Gorges a long term contract. He is RFA next year.
An extension to his contract would be great. Right now, this guy is a real deal at 1,1M$.

Markov and Gorges are at their last year of contract.
Gionta is my choice for the captain.

No one talk about Placanek? He is not my choice for the captain but I expect some leadership from him.

Except height, plus he doesn't speak French. The best pick then would be Lapierre.

So what? for most of the 70s, the Captains of the Montreal Canadiens were 5'7" Henri Richard from 71-75 and then 5'9" Cournoyer until 79.

Lapierre doesn't have the C in his future right now, he has to prove the 08-09 season and 09-10 playoffs were not a fluke more than take on the leadership role. Any newcomer captain who doesn't speak French will be given leeway in that, especially if they can play.

Surprised nobody mentioned the obvious choice: Carey Price!

Come on! He told Sergei K off in front of all the journalists in the playoffs. Captain material right there. They traded Halak to give the C to Price, so obvious!!!

Kidding aside, it's Gionta.
