thats just a few to start us off...
I don't see why he wouldn't. Wouldn't have to move and the New York area would be awesome for him if he did. That makes no sense, actually. He'd waive it to go to a team like the Rangers or Devils, I'm sure.

Granted, I don't really want him but I'm sure he'd waive it.

Fair enough if you look at it that way. However I don't think Holmgren would be too keen on it.

Oh, obviously. There's no way he's traded within conference. I just think he'd waive it in an instant to go there or to Pittsburgh.

I can't believe NOBODY else brought up the GLARING point in the proposal. NYR would need to include either a 2nd or a 1st rnd pick to get the flyers to even consider this.

Gagne >>>> Prospal in EVERY aspect of the game. Also, remember that the Flyers could have signed Prospal outright if we were really that interest in him and just planned on dealing Gagne AFTER we had Prospal signed. I think it's safe to say that the Flyers have no interest in Vinnie at this time.

Terribly one sided, we have a better chance of claiming him off of waivers before this happens.

Not that I think he'll get traded to a division rival, why wouldn't he waive his NTC to play for a division rival?

I would think the competitive spirit in most players would put division rivals at the top of the list for where players would prefer to go.

Gagne doesn't make a ton of sense for the Rangers. There's no way a player that just got re-signed is getting dealt, so if we were to get Gagne, we'd be trading something else.

I don't really think we need another stop gap player. Gagne's deal is up after this year. I doubt we'd re-sign him.

This just isn't true. I hate when people act like teams can just sign players without their consent. "Why didn't we just go sign this guy???" "Signing X player makes a lot more sense than this Y player we got!"

Who's to say Prospal was interested in going ANYWHERE but New York until he got turned down on a contract renewal with terms he liked?
