Setoguchi

I would love to see Yzerman give Doug Wilson a taste of his own medicine and send an offer sheet to Setoguchi in SJ. He scored 11 goals, 31 goals and 20 goals. He is young and would be a good winger for years to come!

3.25M for 4 years???

that would be really dumb for the lightning to do, they should just be paitient which they are going to do, wait for some of their high end prospects like connolly, ashton, panik, and tyrell to develop and be contenders in 2-3 years with a boatload of more great prospects coming up.

Keep the draft picks, thats what all nhl teams should be doing!!

There's a reason teams don't touch offer sheets very often.

Especially when you have Downie now, Stamkos next year and Hedman in 2012 all eligible for offersheets.

If we are giving teams "a taste of their own medicine" we should expect the same.

when our team is this unconsistant(not saying we will be nest year with the new coachnig staff) we could be 30th overall or 10th overall........we wouldnot want to look like Toronto now would we.........

wouldnt make sense for us with our slow approach, (as said before) RFA's of our own, and we have a slew of young talented wingers

Don't pretend your team hasn't been equally ****** over the past three years.

This is a bad idea, by the way.

Before you re-upped St. Louis, I thought Seto for St. Louis would be a good trade for both teams. Sharks get a major upgrade, Stamkos gets a premier winger for the next decade, and Martin hits a contender. That said, I think you definitely made the right choice re-signing him as he will be huge for Stamkos' development and he will probably be worth every penny of that contract and more.

As for 3.25, the Sharks laugh hysterically and thank you for signing our excellent young top 6 forward at under market value for four years.

I don't want him, inconsistent right now and there is something about the way SJ produces players that rubs me the wrong, way, I don't know what it is, I can't explain or rationalize it, but its there just like my hatred for Chad LaRose.

Why would Yzerman specifically, try to sign a player away (in apparently a vindictive manner) from someone who agreed to an offer sheet with one of Chicago's RFAs?

I don't think it's wise to play vigilante at this juncture.

At $3.25m, which I don't think would do it, means that Tampa gives their 1st, and 3rd round picks for the 2011 draft to SJ. It's supposed to be a weak draft, but I'm not crazy about that either.

Yeah, doesn't make much sense from a Lightning POV to get "revenge" for the Hawks.

Setoguchi? I think, Hornqvist, Neal or Moulson would be better

I have no beef with you, but you're horribly misinformed about the Leafs. It's okay, I forgive you for not knowing better.

Anyway for 3 of the years the Leafs missed the playoffs they finished 9th and 10th, so it's not really an accomplishment to be in a playoff spot and crap the bed by the end. My point was both our teams suck and it is true, sadly. There is no way to spin it.

Offer sheeting is a bad idea. You never want to burn bridges in this league. It's precisely why the Leafs traded for Kessel when they could have offersheeted him.

Both the Leafs and Lightning suck and both fanbases should be glad that after years of mismanagement both have a solid foundation lead by one of the best GMs in the league and one of the top up and coming GMs.

Plus we both share a hatred for Ottawa and Montreal.

Agreed. Let us all be friends.

I can't settle down anyway, I get hyper and all ADD-like whenever I come to the Lightning board.
