I can't say I'm not disappointed with the result here. However, I respect Dean's plan to stick with the young guns but then again, you have to be willing at some point to break the bank and Kovy is the kind of player you break the bank for.

Bottom line: I knew this was all going to be a huge disappointment in the end. *sigh*

Thanks. this will probably make my Staples Center experience more enjoyable

Simon Gagné for Justin Williams sounds like a good swap, doubt it happens but DL better make a move soon or else fans will be super pissed..
Regression? Yeah okay. Because we didn't land the big fish we should just go back to the dock.

A real GM isn't a baby like you fans are

Thats not going to happen, All Kovi would have brought to the team is more goals. A problem the kings really didn't have till playoff time.

He didn't open any space for Devils players, so don't pull that card.

I'll remember that while I'm paying for two season seats again to watch a team that has forced Derek Armstrong on me as a #1 center and Trent Klatt as a top-line winger.

I'm sitting here on July 19th wondering how this team is going to improve 5-on-5 scoring and what the **** is going on with the defense.

The LA Kings and management are chumps and have done nothing to disprove this.

I'm not going to sit here and question LL. Those of you suckling DL's teat while bad-mouthing LL out the other side of your mouth are just lost. DL has done nothing in the way of on-ice results in SJ or here.

I get the impression you're neither professional nor competitive.

On the surface, yeah, but there could have been serious issues for him going back to Russia with his family. As far as Atlanta....he probably turned down the $100M offer way back when because JG told him he could make more as a UFA.

All guesses and opinions on my part, of course.

I find it hilarious that 90% of you thought it was a done deal and I knew all along he wasn't going to sign here, it's too good to be true, Lombardi fails in these situations, the fit was too good.. We were in a huge need of a superstar LW, he would've for sure filled out seats and looked good alongside Kopitar.. Oh well, I hope we go after Patrick Sharp or Marc Savard. Savard is injury prone, so is Simon Gagné and I just don't want Tomas Kaberle

Where you present during the Dave Taylor era at all?

Dean has done just fine I believe.

Oh, well, I saw something else. Just believe it. I highly doubt BobM is going to put something on his twitter without at least checking.

I'm disappointed, but because it took so dang long, I'm not crushed or anything. At this point, I'm just happy it's over so the dominoes can start falling...assuming there are any dominoes left. But it would be awesome to get a 2nd line center. Time to use those assets, Dean.

Oh, because that's the next logical step.

I'll be sure to remember this post and tell you to hit the unemployment line in a couple of years as DL is heading out the door.

Lets shake it off. At least we will be a playoff team again next year, now we go out, get a real legitimate #4 defenceman without having to worry about salary, and we have a superb top 6 on defence. We have an upgrade in net with Bernier over Ersberg, and we can poach a couple of vet forwards from teams in cap hell. This team is still a near future cup contender
