Re-sign Fro and don't try to make him something he's not, a third-line stopper. He has proven that he can score in the NHL, why does TM feel otherwise? Lest we forget that he scored 19 goals from the doghouse last year.

career averages
Frolov .31 GPG; .4 APG
Gagne .39; .4
Hemsky .23; .57
Stempniak .26; .3
Savard .26; .63
Neal .33; .26
Ryan .42; .36

Gagne adds about 6 goals per season, the most significant upgrade other than Ryan. Maybe Neal because of his youth would be a nice upgrade but he may be tougher to pry away from Dallas (unless DT can pull the Jedi Mind Trick on Hull).

Other than that I would just as soon take the devil I know (Frolov) against the devils I don't.

Didn't Leiweke say it was about the cap and not cash? Looks like a $5.9 cap hit versus $5.3 cap hit won the day. $600,000 was really going to prevent the Kings from signing their players? Don't buy it again from Leiweke, AEG just didn't want to fork over the $100 million.

Some kind of rumor that Lombardi is looking to deal for a player from the east. Just speculation on my part.

And if its Cheechoo

Why do you think an average forward, some one who is close to be a bust and a pick is worth Hemsky?

At least it's not your birthday. What a hell of a present from the Kings.

Selanne says hello(48 goals / 94 pts aint to shabby)....however we had the perfect team.. One can even claim it was the most dominate team since the salaray cap era..

surely we were built from the backend out...

JS Giguere was a playoff machine
The most dominate defense in the league that year w/ Niedermeyer, Pronger, Beauchemin etc.
Physical 4th line who would stand with anyone and bang
One of the greatest shutdown line in history Niedermeyer, Pahlsson, Moen
An absolute beast of a line Penner, Getzlaf, Perry dominated anyone
and then you top it off with speed in Kunitz, McDonald, Selanne

We won the cup but it came with its casualties as well... Salary was an issue... since that cup we've lost nearly all that team.. McDonald/Kunitz/Penner/Pahlsson/Moen/Pronger/Beauchemin/May - they all were key integral parts to us winning the Cup... To win you have to spend close to the cap.. Yes it may come at a cost to your future but it's the chances a team must take to reach the ultimate prize... You can have your name etched in the cup or forever be a playoff team who never has quite enough...

Like I said the Kings are floating right now.. They need to decide how badly they want to win or they will forever be a Nashville etc... playoffs but not prize...

I love your other suggestions but not every team is looking to get ****ed, the Flyers were just horny.
You need to adjust for glasses, it was for Scheen. I put Moller D prospect and pick for Kaberle. I get your frustration though.

No, need to adjust my brain, I did read that and meant to type Schenn. All the grief, right on your head!

Whats Hemsky done lately, not being rude. Just seems like he has potential, what does potential cost. What would you want in return.

No. Of course he actually is not what you need.

But he played for the club you can see in my avatar during the lock-out and was also born near there xD.

I dig Sturm too, and I'd love him on this team, but he's not the 'solution'.

What about Umberger, Filatov?

Umberger would be a great 2nd line center.

I know you mentioned it earlier, but I doubt CBJ are dealing any roster players at this point in time

2005/2006: 81 gp 77pts
2006/2007: 64 gp 56 pts
2007/2008: 74 gp 71pts
2008/2009: 72gp 66pts
2009/2010: 22 gp 22pts

Always close to be a ppg player without having a real supporting cast (and he actually is a playmaker).

Likely he would be among the top scoring players on your team.

Selanne was a reclamation project at the time. He made his resurgence the season prior, and at 35, nobody expected him to reach those numbers. The Ducks found the perfect linemate for Teemu in Andy McDonald, a speedy playmaking center.

The Kings have their 90-point player in Kopitar. They are still in the hunt of a winger who is considered to be a finisher (unless one comes up from within the system). Until that happens, the Kings are still a strong playoff contender with room to improve.

Lombardi isn't going to sit idly by and watch other teams in his division improve. Right now, I would say the biggest threat to the Kings within the Pacific is San Jose and Phoenix. The Ducks and Stars haven't made any strides in improving their clubs.
