Hypothetically Simmonds could be replaced with Clifford.

I wouldn't mind him, but we'd definitely need someone who could make more of an offensive impact. We still need a ****ing D-man...

Ehrhoff?

I would love Ribiero, but somehow I just don't see an inter-division trade taking place..

I bet we get Zubrus from the Devils (as a supporting move, obviously not the showcase). An upgrade from Modin.

Anyone got a list of role-players asking for too much? We got the cap space.

DL should have gone after Umberger when Philly dumped him to Columbus a couple of years ago. I forgot the return to Philly but I do not think that it was much. Dude is tough and has some skill as well.

So true. Maybe it would be the best for your team to sign Mitchell, Fedotenko and Stempniak to get some depth and stay competitive and wait for 1 or 2 years. Then you will e.g. likely have at least a true #2 center in Schenn and some contracts like Handzus, Smyth or Williams of the books (not that they are bad, but they just don't really help you to win a cup anymore).
Your core is still so young, I think you could afford that.

Anyone. There's reasons, oh there's reasons, just cant talk about them or my posts get deleted. We could get via trade a great player for those 2 packaged together let alone separately. No body is untouchable sept Doughty and probably Bernier.

Lombardi isn't going to sit idly by and watch other teams in his division improve. Right now, I would say the biggest threat to the Kings within the Pacific is San Jose and Phoenix. The Ducks and Stars haven't made any strides in improving their clubs.
The organization and the fans were absolutely banking on Selanne following up his '05/'06 season, go back and read the threads if you don't believe that.

Also, don't 90 point players, you know, have to actually put up 90 points before they can be called that?

Being 22 years old and having a point-per-game average of .99 should be a good indication of Kopitar's ability to produce at 90 points.

I said nobody expected Selanne to put up those type of numbers when the Ducks signed him in 2005. He surprised a lot of people after having reconstructive knee surgery and having time to rest his body during the lockout.

Looks like it did him wonders. At the time, it wasn't considered to be a huge pickup for the Ducks. It was a gamble that worked out for them, and I could see the Kings taking a similar gamble with another player in a similar position.

Oh yeah. He would be great.

100 times rather have him in LA than with the Nucks.

Traded to Columbus by Philadelphia with Philadelphia's 4th round choice (Drew Olson) in 2008 Entry Draft for Colorado's 1st round choice (previously acquired, Philadelphia selected Luca Sbisa) in 2008 Entry Draft and Columbus's 3rd round choice (Marc-Andre Bourdon) in 2008 Entry Draft, June 20, 2008.

Always close to be a ppg player without having a real supporting cast (and he actually is a playmaker).

Likely he would be among the top scoring players on your team.
What would your return be.

Unfortunately, the Kings may be in a similar position of the Blackhawks a few seasons ago: they did not start competing / being a real NHL presence until their owner died. After Wurtz passed, the entire team turned it around. Geez, I just read this am that Chi had only 3000 STH in the last year of Wurtz' ownership/management.

As long as AEG owns the Kings, expect more disappointment in "roster building" ... and in results...

Clifford could also turn out to be the next Scott Thornton. I'd rather keep Simmonds and see what becomes of Clifford.

Hard to say. I don't really now your prospects that well.

Actually don't even know. Maybe Stoll and one of the goalies. And if newcessary Cogliano aded on our side. But this works just if Omark is good enough to halway substitue Hemsky anyway.

You may have to help Preissing sign his name on the contract. Is Scott Thornton done riding his bike? He would make a great "mentor".

Where is Nagy? He'd be a solid replacement for Kovalchuk. I think Lundmark signed somwhere else though...
I don't trust Bernier tho... maybe we should look into Burke? Garon? Cloutier?
