Dunno if it's sad, but P could dress up youpi and stick him in ets and I<d still watch//buy tickets. This city bleeds red white and blue, not black and blue (ok... maybe one week end a year )

edit: you talking about rosters, or franchise at large?
Roosters including the coaches.

Everybody knows people actually chose their team. They make a careful and rational analysis of their strength and weakness, and then select the one they will root for. All fans, in all sports, do this process.

Sport teams are NEVER chosen based on ridiculous criteria such as, for example, if they happen to be the local team or not. Or if there's a tradition within one's family or circle of friends to follow a specific team.

That's why Pittsburgh and Detroit fans dramatically outnumbers fans of other teams. Since both are teams who had plenty of recent success, it only makes sense.

everyone is crying because the habs let Boucher and Brisebois go!? has either of them done much at the NHL level? they are both raw and very young. I will admit they have shown some great stuff so far, and do have potential, but please give it some time before you think they will be gods.

Habs have great managmenet staff in place with solid EXPERIENCE, and they have done a good job to replace the guys that have left. This is part of the buisiness.

as for player moves like them getting Gagne or Ellis instead of the habs, i dont mind really. I mean Gagne would have been tight to fit under the cap, the habs have their big name players locked up.

Tampa still has work to do as a team, there is a lack of depth up front, but they could be better than last season. this is not hard considering how bad they were. Or maybe boucher system does not work at NHL level, maybe older players do not buy his ideas, maybe he falls flat on his face? we cant really say anything till the puck is dropped.

so pls stop crying

Just thought I'd mention it's only because of successful teams with fanbases like the Canadiens that the Sunbelt squads stay partially afloat having to share their money with teams that have no fans or money.

lol I remember last year rds said, Which first line would you rather have?

Cammallerri-Gomez-Gionta
or
Tanguay-Lecavalier-St.louis

I think it was 70% for tampa line. Its gonna be the exact same thing except sub Gagne for Tanguay

Stamkos , st-louis, hedman and boucher make me choose lightning but gotta say i wouldnt part with pk either... Of course i still love my habs and find ways to get excited with Eller, Subban, Pouliot and Price if all of them can play to the expectations we gonna do some serious damage.. But thats a big if..

The big difference is gagne is a competitor a sniper and leader wich tanguay was not... I remember when we got him his comments were so... Unconfident like: dont expect me to be the best player and stuff like that.. I expect a big season from gagne if healthy 40 goals, book it.

If only Lecavalier didn't have this ritard contract......+ it's a little bit unfair because IIRC tbl have a internal cap. With 10 M$ they would be able to sign a great player next year....

Stamkos
Lecavalier
Hedman
Ohlund
St-louis
Gagné
Ellis
Conolly

If it was a staff switch I choose the Lightning staff and players on Montreal Canadiens, the team will be spectacular to watch. Stamkos as an Hab ? AMAZING !!!

Tampa has been in the NHL for the past 17 years and have missed the playoffs 12 times, have been eliminated in the 1st round 3 times, in the 2nd round 1 time and 1time have won the cup.

MTL, in the same time span, missed the playoffs only 6 times (including 2006-2007 by a single point), been eliminated in the 1st round 5 times, 2nd round 4 times, 3rd round 1 time, and won the cup 1 time.

Easy decision.

But grass is always greener elsewhere right?

You should see my neighbor grass. Or should i dare to say jungle ?

It's insane really. Grass is like 3 feet high and not i'm not kidding lol

As for the OP question , i'd take the Lighting roster over ours . It's worth it for Stamkos and Hedman alone and that's not to mention the other guys like Vinny , Marty , Downie , Malone , Gagne , Ranger ect

Tough decision.

Tampa is a pitiful hockey town, but has a pretty solid offensive core and defense.

Close one... In a dreamland, I would take CH's the G and Ds by a big lead. I take the Bolts Fs and Management by a small lead.

I gotta choose one or the other? Damn, tough call...

I'll go with the CH because of its core and the pool of prospects...

The Subbanator , Pocket Gio with his mid air goals, Cammy the Jewtalian Sniper, Eller THE GREAT DANE (TAMPA HAS NO DANISH FYI), The Price is RIGHT, Captain Gorges, Holy ''Lappy'' Diver, Eh' citizen Markov, Turtleneck Jagr, Gomez the Mexicalaskian, Benny the Poo...

I'd trade that team for no other team in the NHL!

You know you have psychological issues to work on when you feel humiliated by speaking freely about hockey teams...

Why would any habs fan want to switch teams with another city? I've come to appreciate this team, the players, etc. To me, this thread doesn't sound like "which team will be better?"; rather sounds like "Would you rather cheer for the Lightning if they moved in Quebec/Montreal/whatever?"
