What are the chances Eriksson or Bobrovsky play a game this season?

I'm excited to see any of them give a go here in the NHL, but do you think they'll get their chance next year or do you think they may have a shot at starting a few?

I mean given our current situation, why not?

Zero for Eriksson, he stays in Sweden ... Bobrovsky is currently #4 on the depth chart, very slim.

With our luck I'd guess Bob plays at least one. Eriksson will not.

No chance for Eriksson, I bet Bob at least gets on the bench for backup duty.

Probably depends what goes on at the AHL level. Whomever is playing better between Backlund and Bob will be up at some point, that's for sure. Wouldn't be shocked if they gave Bob a taste as a backup no matter what (assuming one of our goalies gets hurt/sick at some point).

If the last season's trend continues... Bobo will be our starter come february.

Leighton will go down with a bad case of "career backup" at some point.

The fact that this possibility exists, at least with respect to Bob (Eriksson slim chance), is a testament to this ongoing goaltending soap opera with the Flyers. Every year it's a question mark. I hope one day Eriksson and Bob become proven commodities and exclamation points!

There's a reason the Flyers issued Bob a real number (35). He will dress at some point. And he will likely play considering the impressive way last year's goalies got hurt. And last year's goalies are this year's goalies ... just a year older.

You know what's interesting. If Leighton does crater, they're basically going to have to go and acquire someone.

Who gets waived, Leighton or Boucher?

Bobrovsky makes $1.75m per. There's no way we see him unless Boosh and Leighton fail terribly.

If we had a real goalie, I'd rather have Boosh but, given that we don't, Leighton is the guy I'd keep.

The thing is that Leighton represents more of a cap problem in that situation, which is what would make it interesting.

That's including bonuses and whatnot. His actual salary is like 900K.

Oh, that's much better then. Excellent. I hope we see him for a bit as at least a backup.

ericsson, zero chance, #5 on depth chart at best, young, stuck in sweden. he is developing quickly but no need to rush him. bobrovsky is a possibility, especially if there is no other veteran goalie signed.

Sunshine zero chance. Bobo not a high chance but you never know. I for one hope we don't see him. No need to rush him.

With the amount of suck Leighton and Boucher are capable of creating, it wouldn't surprise me to see Bob called up if Backlund falters

Eriksson won't, but if something bad happens to Leighton and/or Boucher, he will probably be called upon to either back up or start.

Hopefully Bobrovsky's ready to start by 2011-12, but I'm expecting 2012-13.

Eriksson's developmental time-line seems to be one year later than Bobrovsky.

If anyone is getting games this season, it will be Backlund.

Bobro could be one of the AHL goalies so he has a slight chances, but nothing more than slight. I'm sure the Flyers want to take his progression slow considering this is his first season playing on NA rinks.

Backlund is already number three on the depth chart so not only would Leighton have to implode or get injured, but Backlund would either have to fail or get injured.

So, given our luck with goalies, maybe.

Slim and None in reverse order. Like you I too like some of the prospects we have in that position and hopefully in a few years someone pushes for a spot on the roster.

i wouldnt be surprised to see both backlund and bobrovski get some time on the big squad this year. and while it would suck i wouldnt be shocked to have that be the pairing we finish the year out with
