As per cap geek. 1 way $725,000 remains a RFA.

Yeah I was quite pleased when I saw it. For some weird reason they don't show it under signings only on our cap summary page and his own player page. I like the length, amount and RFA retainment. A good 13th forward/4th line versatile dude.

So how much cap room does this leave?

With Walker I'm assuming way south of 1 mil

Part of me feels like Homer wouldn't have done this if Betts was healthy. Which goes to show how much confidence he has in Shelley...ugh. **** Matt Walker. **** Jody Shelley. They could both have banner years and it won't matter to me. So most of all, **** Paul Holmgrem.

This means that there are 2 positions of top 9, bottom 3 and bench.

This will be split between Shelly, Carcillo and Powe

EDIT: NVM Powe will play 4th line center

I knew they we're going to re-sign Powe. He may not be the best player out there, but every time he's on the ice, he busts his ass and gives it his all!

I'm really happy about this, I honestly thought we were gonna let him go. On the other hand, is this just more reassurance that Michael Leighton is going to be our #1?

$327,0000 but that is with 24 players on the roster.

And I see his contract is now up on the main page. I must have stumbled on it right when they were posting.

Flyers will have $1,477,740 in cap space when Bartulis and Cote are sent to the Phantoms. They still will have 13 forwards and 7 defenseman.

Betts goes on LTIR, Nodl becomes #13, no cap space spent.

It's a must signing especially since Betts is out till November.

Turco would make around Boucher money, so it will almost be a wash, what other options does Turco have?

Like I said above, they have some cap space.

Was Powe really necessary? I mean, he's a mediocre scrub that really offers nothing to the team. Oh, I know he has his fans on here because he can skate, but the man has hands of stone and couldn't win a faceoff to save his life. Powe isn't a necessity for this team. I'd rather have someone like Kalinski than Powe.

Good. And it's nice to be pleased about a deal Homer has completed, for a change.

Powe is a proven defensive forward and solid penalty killer who can chip in a few goals. With Betts injuried, the Powe signing was a must. Betts played really well in his role during the playoffs.

Powe was one of the hit leaders in the playoffs as well.

If Betts is out until November, I wish Holmgren would have signed Patrick Thoreson instead. I'm sure he would have signed for about $200,000 cheaper than Powe, who was overpaid on this contract.....

Thoreson would make more money overseas.

Haha, I knew someone was going to think this was overpayment. Every contract Holmgren gives seems to be overpayment.

For a 4th line guy who has put up 15 goals, 26 points the past two years, and PK's, I'd say its a good deal. Just my opinion.

Overpaid? The other guy you were trumpeting - Kalinski - is $150k MORE on the cap.
