Cammalleri on the radio and on the course

Mike Cammalleri appeared on both Toronto radio and at the Canadian Open Pro-Am today. Links here. You gotta love his comment on his faltering golf game though.

“My handicap is six. I used to be a better player, but I’ve been busy playing playoff hockey these days.”

Awesome

Yeah and that was at the CityTV-Toronto reporter. Leafs could have signed him, but Burke would rather trade draft picks for Kessell instead.

Funny how Cammalleri's name was hardly mentioned in the Toronto press until he started lighting it up in a Habs uniform during the playoffs. Likewise for Subban, another Toronto native, who got tonnes of hoemtown publicity after the playoffs.

you realise these guys get asked the same questions every day of their lives. you cant expect them to come up with a new and equally witty response to every question every time it's brought up. very few people can pull that feat off in life

No I just fell off the potato trunk yesterday. I didn't know that. Thanks for letting me in on the secret.

Actually, I believe the leafs were interested in Cammalleri, but Cammalleri wasn't interested in Toronto. Cammy wanted to keep southern ontario as his off season home. I guess he would was afraid of losing that summer escape had he signed with the leafs.

Montreal is close enough to his hometown but far enough to not make his summer a circus.

I wonder if the Leafs' fans are asking for their Scouting staff to be fired because they did not draft Subban instead of --Insert name of developing player not yet in the NHL--
