Took one look at Lappy and said, "I've never worn 14 in my life. I wear 41."

That info has been out there... The latest news numbers-wise is that Walker is wearing #8.

What I am wondering about is the hold up on Zherdev being assigned a number... Unless requested I understand the Trainer hands out the new numbers -- that may be on less established players coming into the NHL though... except for big name rookies -- I'm guessing they are awaiting Zherdev to come to the Area and find out his wishes now that CarBomb has returned for his #13... Zherdev needs an interpreter so I imagine they feel it best to wait... but I'm only assuming on that.

Off topic but I just checked the roster on the flyers homepage, has anyone noticed that our D now is averaging 6'3 and 212lbs?
Thats freaking huge!
Also, OD weighs nearly 240lbs on a 6'2 frame, awesome stuff!

Now, he’s getting a number, yeah, he’s gettin’ a jersey done
He asked for a 14, but they drew a 41
Friends say he’s trying too hard and he’s not quite hip
But in his own mind, he’s the, he’s the dopest trip

i actually hated alberts less than most people. he could really turn it on late in the season and nearly be a legit #6 guy on most teams.

I agree. He started off terrible for us, but became a pretty reliable 6th and I thought was particularly good on the PK.

He was pretty awful for Vancouver though in the playoffs this year.

I actually think Alberts worked out pretty well when we had him. He added some blue-line grit which we didn't have at the time because Smith left and Hatcher would never play in the NHL again. The defenders then were Kimmo, Coburn, Parent, Jones, Kukkonen, Eminger, Sbisa and Väänänen if I'm not mistaken and I think Jones and Parent were on IR.

He crunched some minutes without being awful. Alberts was a good #6 defender for us.
