Cogs to Vancouver

I'm a Canucks fan that would be excited to see a

Raymond - Cogliano - Kesler line

So Edmontonians, what can Vancouver do to get Cogs without trading Raymond or Kesler?

What about

Bieksa for Cogliano straight up?

Same, but I don't think the Canucks would do it

Whitney-Gilbert
Smid-Bieksa
Foster-Vandermeer

Bieksa doesn't really fit the rebuild. I don't really think he brings anything to the team that's desperately missing.

I don't really want to see Cogs burning the Oilers 6 or more times a year so trading him within the division seems unlikely.

All said, offer up a 2nd round pick and I'd trade him to you. There's nothing on your roster that he's worth that we need (that you'd trade for that matter).

I like Cogliano but he really doesnt make sense for the Canucks. Where would he play? He wouldnt crack the top 6.

From what I've seen and remember of him he brings some grit and effort. Nothing wrong with that on the back end. I think of him as a player I hate, but would love to have on my team.
I like Cogs, but unless he's made some major strides in the puck handling department I wouldn't be that sad watching him skate passed our d-men and lose the puck...
haha

that's not a bad idea actually. edmonton really needs some more D, vancouver needs to dump some salary, and cogliano could theoretically compete for the 3rd line centre job now that wellwood is gone.

Neither team would do it IMO. Even if both GM's thought the value was good, I don't think either, or at least one of them, would want to take that kind of chance. Unless of course Tambellini really didn't think much of Cogliano. Plus, Cogliano doesn't address a need in Vancouver, and would be too expensive to play on the fourth line.

I wish.

We'd likely then be forced to sign Domonic Moore or John Madden(Or try VERY hard to pull it off)

Yeah, I'd be very happy with those lines. If Omark made the team... it would be even more confusing.

no he wouldnt. Malhotra is much better suited for 3rd line center duties. Not a chance Cogliano would take his spot.

Any reason why you posted your lines in code?

Penner-Horcoff-Hemsky
Hall-Gagner-Eberle
MPS-Moore/Madden-Brule
Jones-Fraser-Stortini

Looks like a pretty good lineup to me

But we could make a line of:

Hansen-Cogliano-Raymond

They may never score, but it'd be fun as hell watching them skate circles around the opposition.

Cogliano = RFA? What did he make last year?

Other than that, Bieksa for Cogliano, hell yeah.

Trading within the conference is rare. I doubt we want to face Bieksa that often and I doubt Edm wants to give us a speedy winger that could end up burning them.

Plus Bieksa has no value for a team that isn't in contention. He's a rental for the year. He could sign an extension but I doubt he does that in Edmonton. He could go UFA and get a better deal elsewhere.

Unless Edm plans on flipping him at the deadline for picks to a contender they don't have reason to do this.

Plus I think we can get more than Cogs from someone else.

Pass on Cogliano, he would just rott on our bottom 6 line and not get any Special Teams time either....id rather get propsects and draft picks for Bieksa....
