There is a penalty for guessing wrong (per group consensus on the MMA Pick em' thread)

MAIN CARD
Jon Jones vs. Vladimir Matyushenko (3 points) (No one else will, but this is a closer match than people think.)
Mark Munoz vs. Yushin Okami (2 points) (tough call, should be good.)
Jake Ellenberger vs. John Howard
Takanori Gomi vs. Tyson Griffin

PRELIMINARY CARD (1 point)
Paul Kelly vs. Jacob Volkmann (Very tough call, Volkmann 2 loses are against opponents better than any Kelly has fought, but it's been a while since he had a really strong fight. Do or die time, I say he does.)
DaMarques Johnson vs. Matthew Riddle
James Irvin vs. Igor Pokrajac (loser leaves UFC, winner leaves UFC shortly after...)
Mike Massenzio vs. Brian Stann
Darren Elkins vs. Charles Oliveira
Rob Kimmons vs. Steve Steinbeiss

I could easily see The Janitor winning because he's one of those gritty vets that could win any number of ways and pull it out in the end.

On Volkmann vs Kelly, I feel the same way. Kelly also has a history of gassing and to be honest Volkmann has enough cardio to wear him out, take him down, and sub him out.

Been saying for some time now that this is the toughest fight of Jones' career. Vladdy is almost impossible to finish and is one of the most gritty veterans in the sport still. He can grind out decision wins over guys he shouldn't beat by showing his intense heart level and such. I think his wrestling is better than Jones' wrestling and he should be able to get the fight to the mat a few times. Should be a great ****ing fight. Vladdy is one of my favorite fighters all time and Jones is one of my favorite current rights as well. Really hard to pick and I think Jones can definitely win this one, but I have to go with the willy veteran.

Whoever picks Vlad should get bonus points. He opened a 4:1 dog IIRC.

Yea even tho I think Jones is going to win I have been thinking about putting a bet on Vlad. He is better than the odds have him.

So far Okami vs Munoz is about 50/50. This is a great card for a free card IMO

This is a tough, tough fight for Jon Jones. The only reason he's such a favourite is because most people don't know who the hell Matyushenko is. I could see this fight going either way, Matyushenko is the better wrestler and Jones is the better striker. My bet is that the fight plays out a lot like Vera/Couture where Matyushenko slowly grinds out a decision victory and suffocates Jones' striking. Like Jonathan said, you've gotta put your money on the gritty veteran in this fight

Is there going to be a rule about having to pick a certain amount of fights on a card to qualify?

I don't see any need for that. The more picks you make, the more points you can get.

I get it. I just mean if someone is going to come in here and only pick the main event, your kinda wasting the guys time who has to compile everything. Not saying anyone has done it yet just throwing it out there.

Actually that would be easier. I don't see a problem with just doing that but it would be pretty hard to win that way.

Which is actually why I wouldn't mind compiling it all. Enough free time
