the first day is fair decent but the second day is pretty terrible (mostly because of Atreyu)

Avenged Sevenfold would be real cool to go see...if Mike Portnoy is on the drums, it's just epic (RIP Rev). Is it confirmed that he'll be on the tour with them?

Going to the gig in QC, friday night. Just bought the LP version of Rust in Peace. Nice album really. Enjoy the show!
Honestly I didn't want to go because I've had my time with large outdoor shows (bad sound, standing for hours, bands I don't want to see etc) but the fact that Megadeth is playing that entire album is very attractive. An absolute classic record. Ditto for Slayer playing all of Seasons. I have to say I having second thoughts about not going.

yes its confirmed, mike will play drums for them for the tour, as he recorded most if not all the tracks on the new album, epic it will be!

Same here. I chose to go see Centurion and attend the Q&A with Neil Marshall instead. It was a hard choice to make though.

It was epic.

Just epic. Megadeth was fantastic.

Slayer was great.

alice ****ing cooper, as old as he is, can put on a show.

little disappointed by mastodon. third time seeing them and this was definitely the worst.

testament and fear factory were also good

anvil was bland.

halford was good but a little boring, and i'm a big halford fan.

auf der maur left me with a boner throughout her show.

the rest...who cares

any questions anybody has?

Well that was fun. I arrived at 5 just in time for testament.

Mustaine had trouble with his mic or something during the first half of megadeths show. You couldn'r hear half of what he was singing. They finished off pretty epically though. There were also fireworks over at laronde at the same time as megadeth was performing.

Oh and I was in the mosh pit for a few slayer songs. That was insane!

Fun show. Got there for High on Fire (great btw)....although this show confirmed my belief that most metalheads are nothing but brain-dead neanderthals. I still don't understand the point of moshing.

Only took pics of Mastodon...sweet set, but not enough time. Fear Factory was brutal (good way)...Dino being back in the band is a great thing. Testament, Megadeth, and Slayer were all good too.

Couldn't care less about the rest of the acts.

Moshing is a great way to blow some pent up aggression out legally. Although I had enough after 10 min in there.lol

It's also annoying when you're trying to enjoy the music and some sweaty drugged up stoner keeps bumping into you while you are on the railing.

Then again, I'll listen to the music, but I'll never identify with the "metal culture".

ya that kept on happening to me today, was really annoying. Im fully with you on this one, the music is ridiculously amazing but i'll never be one of those moshers or wear the type of clothes the people of the "metal culture" wear other than once in a while a band t-shirt.

I was asked to go to this. I love how Montreal has Heavy MTL and Osheaga which are two festivals that are putting Montreal on the music map.

That being said the only band I'd want to see is Alexisonfire.

Okay, and Despised Icon a last time before they call it quits.

I was just thinking how it's nice now that Montreal is finally starting to get some festivals to call its own. When I was a kid (well let's say 7-8 years ago, I'm 25 now) there wasn't anything like that. You'd get the Warped Tour passing through and maybe some of the bands from Ozzfest would play at Jean-Drapeau if they were close and had an off-date, but nothing uniquely Montreal like Osheaga and Heavy MTL.

'She-Wolf'
'Mechanix'

I dunno, it wasn't as bad as when High on Fire were on...I could still make out what Mustaine was saying.

The set after the RIP songs was underwhelming...Trust and À Tout le Monde should never be part of the set. The only reason À Tout le Monde is popular here is because of a French chorus, but it's not a song you should play between a RIP set and Symphony/Peace Sells. I would have preferred In My Darkest Hour or even Devils Island.

Meh, at least I heard Poison was the Cure, Lucretia, RIP...Polaris, and Five Magics this time around, so I can't really complain. Although I think five times is enough for Megadeth, especially if he refuses to play more material from KIMB and SFSGSW.

Hook in Mouth? ****! Why not play that at the Heavy MTL show?

Ridiculous.
