Haven't seen one of these around, and it's the dog days of summer. What's everyone listening to?

Personally, it's been a lot of The National, Gaslight Anthem, and Local Natives.

Mods, if this is no good, just scrap it.

-Disturbed (not as much right now but they're my favorite band and I'm amped for the new ablum Asylum)

-Breaking Benjamin

-3 Days Grace

-Skillet

That's it mainly, with a scattering of a bunch of other songs as well.

I've been into Bad Religion a lot lately. Also Less Than Jake, Saves The Day, Brand New, Avenged Sevenfold... and a bunch of bands that no one here knows I would guess. Anyone on Last.fm?

Bought all of Coheed & Cambria's albums over the past two months and they're now one of my favorite bands. I have a hard time following the whole mythology they've created but the music is great. Listen to them nonstop on my iPod.

Other than that I haven't listened to much music that amazed me. The new Stone Temple Pilots album that came out a while back is okay. Going to see them at Jones Beach in September.

The only ones I don't know on that list are Brand New and Saves the Day. I also really like A7X.

I agree with you on all of these, especially Disturbed and BB. Some of my other favorite bands are Shinedown (just saw them live for the fourth time; it was awesome), Godsmack, Staind, Alter Bridge, Chevelle (also saw them at the Shinedown show; they were great as well), and Lacuna Coil to name a few.

Don't be shy. I'm sure people will know some of the other bands you listen to. If not, maybe they'll check them out. That's partly why I started the thread, also.

Never heard of almost all of them.

A couple of weeks ago I was at Radio City for Ringo's birthday with Paul McCartney.

That's probably why.

I've been meaning to get the new albums from Scissor Sisters and Sick of It All, but haven't gotten around to it. As far as what I've been listening to, nothing all that new. Have been binging on the Swingin' Utters lately. They're an old favorite, but I'm always in awe of how good their music is.

Doesn't mean you can't expand your horizons. The Beatles were my first favorite band but I've also become a hard rock/metal fan.
