Slayer's set-list will be something similar to this (I think):
1. World Painted Blood
3. Hate Worldwide
5. Beauty Through Order
6. War Ensemble
7. Blood Red
8. Spirit in Black
9. Expendable Youth
10. Dead Skin Mask
11. Hallowed Point
12. Skeletons of Society
14. Born of Fire
15. Seasons in the Abyss
16. Mandatory Suicide
17. Raining Blood
18. Aggressive Perfector
19. South of Heaven
20. Angel of Death
Don't expect that many songs...Slayer's set is from 7:20-8:35.
You guys know that Slayer will play the whole Season in the Abyss album?
Going to the gig in QC, friday night. Just bought the LP version of Rust in Peace. Nice album really. Enjoy the show!
Honestly I didn't want to go because I've had my time with large outdoor shows (bad sound, standing for hours, bands I don't want to see etc) but the fact that Megadeth is playing that entire album is very attractive. An absolute classic record. Ditto for Slayer playing all of Seasons. I have to say I having second thoughts about not going.
Well that was fun. I arrived at 5 just in time for testament.
Mustaine had trouble with his mic or something during the first half of megadeths show. You couldn'r hear half of what he was singing. They finished off pretty epically though. There were also fireworks over at laronde at the same time as megadeth was performing.
Oh and I was in the mosh pit for a few slayer songs. That was insane!
It's also annoying when you're trying to enjoy the music and some sweaty drugged up stoner keeps bumping into you while you are on the railing.
Then again, I'll listen to the music, but I'll never identify with the "metal culture".
ya that kept on happening to me today, was really annoying. Im fully with you on this one, the music is ridiculously amazing but i'll never be one of those moshers or wear the type of clothes the people of the "metal culture" wear other than once in a while a band t-shirt.
I was asked to go to this. I love how Montreal has Heavy MTL and Osheaga which are two festivals that are putting Montreal on the music map.
I was just thinking how it's nice now that Montreal is finally starting to get some festivals to call its own. When I was a kid (well let's say 7-8 years ago, I'm 25 now) there wasn't anything like that. You'd get the Warped Tour passing through and maybe some of the bands from Ozzfest would play at Jean-Drapeau if they were close and had an off-date, but nothing uniquely Montreal like Osheaga and Heavy MTL.
So nobody noticed/cared about not hearing Mustaine?
I dunno, it wasn't as bad as when High on Fire were on...I could still make out what Mustaine was saying.
The set after the RIP songs was underwhelming...Trust and À Tout le Monde should never be part of the set. The only reason À Tout le Monde is popular here is because of a French chorus, but it's not a song you should play between a RIP set and Symphony/Peace Sells. I would have preferred In My Darkest Hour or even Devils Island.
Meh, at least I heard Poison was the Cure, Lucretia, RIP...Polaris, and Five Magics this time around, so I can't really complain. Although I think five times is enough for Megadeth, especially if he refuses to play more material from KIMB and SFSGSW.
