I thought last season was Pouliot's best season in the NHL by far. He looked like he was starting to improve. Hopefully he can continue to improve and find success in Tampa.

Yes.

He can make and take and a pass at full speed and in heavy traffic... won't put up flashy points, but if he's given a couple hard nosed wingers, he could be a very nice option on the third line.

Important for Tampa to play him at C... he's much more effective there.

I would rather have Pouliot than Cogliano, one guy I would have liked to keep on the oil

I've been saying it for years. He is as useless of an NHLer as you can get. I can't tell you what he brings on a night to night basis. He has absolutely no identity.

Apparently he's a very nice guy though so if he ever gets his act together I'll be very happy for him.
As someone else pointed out, he put up points that would pro-rate to 15g/15a playing 12 minutes a night. He also spent time on 2nd/3rd unit PK last season.

I've always felt Pouliot was a better player than he was given credit for when on the Oilers. In the right situation I think he'll find some success.

I'm pissed that the habs didn't sign him... really wanted him for our bottom-6.

on a side note, i'm really starting to hate the lightning, love/hate i guess. They are making all the moves that I want to see the habs make...

yzerman
boucher
gagne

now pouliot...

add in Vinny and St.Louis (not too mention Stamkos/Hedman)

and they are turning into everything i wish the habs were.

Nice signing for you. I personally wish we would have kept him.

He is definitely able to pt up around 30 pts on a third line role, when he is paired with players who can play a bit of hockey.

Considering that your biggest problem last season was secondary scoring, this definitely helps you.

Looking at these signings, Yzerman would have been a hero in Montreal. Too bad they went with Gauthier. lol

Doubt the Pens were even interested in him.

Also, I do think a lot of players would like to play there. You get to have Mario Lemieux as your owner, which is pretty cool. Play in a brand new, state of the art arena. Play on a legit contender almost every year and if you're a winger, you could be playing with Crosby or Malkin. Why wouldn't almost everyone want to play there right now?

A two way contract seems about right. This was a guy who was horrible on the worse team in the league. Why would anyone guarantee him money and a roster position up front?

It isn't an amazing pickup, but as a two-way deal for the price it's very solid.

And I like the Fleming hire.
