how about we worry about the 2010-2011 Regular season and maybe even the 2011 offseason and 2011-2012 regular season before we worry about who we are going to sign two years from now...
In hindsight, freeing up cap space vastly improved the Knicks regardless of whether they got LBJ or not.
Having cap space provides you options, even to the point of a team trading you talent and futures(draft picks) just to get rid of a contract.
I am not a supporter of signing another big free agent after one of our failures expires. Free agents should only be signed to support your core and not be expected to be the leaders of the team. Trust me, the "leaders" will never be allowed to leave their teams. They will not let them leave.
This place is unbelievable, a year ago everyone said summer 2010 KOVY KOVY KOVY, fast forward and now he's not a winner. Now people are looking forward to 2 summers away? You can't run a team that way.(See Donnie Walsh). Don't let that bs on MSG about how the Knicks are back/bright lights/welcome free agents crap fool you. Back to topic, I can't wait in 2 years to hear who isn't a winner
in 2012 Rozy, Drury and Avery will be off the books, Christenson and others will also be off the books. My idea is to save cap space, if we need guys like Christenson and Prust et al, we bring em back but dont go on a spending spree. Hopefully with a new CBA we will get free buyouts and Redden and Booguard are gone.
2013 Sid is a UFA. Save the space and go for Sid.
ray shero has stated several times that sid has a blank check when it's time to re-up. but everybody dreams of playing in NY (see james, lebron)
