Album Leaf is great.

Great music to fall asleep to: Eluvium, Lights Out Asia, Stars of the Lid, Lanterna. I've been listening to a lot of Caspian before bed lately -- really great post-rock. Never knew NYR-HF had such good taste! (Most of you, anyways. )

I've been chillin' to this today:

Yeah, "What If" is definitely one of my faves. I'm also really into "Saints and Sinners", and the main riff is surprisingly easy to play on guitar.

For all you guys who like punk. You should totally check out The Hextalls (I know, I know) http://www.myspace.com/hextalls.
Some songs are hockey based and there's even one about the Rangers.
I totally own a T-shirt, my brother wants to burn it hahaha. They're good people as well.

This seems like a very ignorant comment to be making, especially since you even admitted that you haven't heard of the majority of the bands we've been talking about. You can't say that rock today sucks if you aren't even aware of some of the big hard rock bands out there.

I love Mastodon. Saw them at the Hammerstein Ballroom a few months back.

Probably Five Lessons Learned. I also really love the Brazen Head EP - have thought about getting the artwork as a tattoo, I love it so much. I can't wait for them to finally come to NYC again.

I've never heard of that band, but will definitely check them out. I feel like I never listen to new bands anymore.

I don't know a ton about Opeth, but I do know that this song (especially the "Reverie" portion) is awesome.

As I Lay Dying, by far, as of late. Their new album is ridiculously brutal.

Yes, Patton was singing for the reunited Faith No More with everyone except Jim Martin involved. Jon Hudson handled guitar duties. Mr. Bungle was nuts, too bad they broke up.

Opeth is great. Amazing compositions, and a great live show.

Porcupine Tree is pretty cool. I'm a big fan of the keyboardist Richard Barbieri's first band Japan. One of my all-time favs.
