Corey Locke should have been #1.

That list is so much better than a few years ago. There's depth and some very high end players. I'd love for Murray to find a forward who's of the same calibre of Rundblad, Wiercioch, Cowen and Lehner.

Agreed. It's 5x better then it was under Muckler.

But to take our prospect pool from a B to an A, I think we really need to add two high end forward prospects....

Its difficult to have a "A" level prospect pool and expect to make the playoffs every year. What really needs to happen is just keep that pipeline healthy so it never dries up. All of our players who aren't Spezza, Alfie, Phillips, and Karlsson should always be watching their back.

I'd say one high end forward and then we really need one of our boom or bust guys to boom. The way the team is being built, it should favour those talented offensive players. We need a Petersson or Hoffman to pan out and Wick, Butler and Silfverberg to be those steady two way ~20 goal guys.

It's extremely difficult I certainly agree. Good point on the boom or bust player to boom. It's basically the same as another high end forward...

Looks great!

If we can get Hockey's Future to update their list according to this, that would be nice.

O'Brien @ 4, what a joke.

Nice list, next year we can probably knock off Cowen, Z. Smith and maybe even Butler

Is it just me or does this list of prospects plus H.M. seem a lot deeper than 2-3 years ago?

Why does this matter? I don't care what nationality they are, as long as they can play hockey.

Agreed. I don't care if it's 25 Lithuanians, as long as they can play.

When we have Roman Wick at position #8, we know the prospect pool is more than solid.

List from 3 years ago:

1. (2) Josh Hennessy, C, 22
2. (1) Brian Lee, D, 19
3. (3) Nick Foligno, LW, 19
4. (4) Igor Mirnov, C, 22
5. (6) Kirill Lyamin, D, 21
6. (9) Brian Elliott, G, 21
7. (8) Ilya Zubov, C, 20
8. (13) Shawn Weller, LW, 20
9. (NR) Kaspars Daugavins, LW, 18
10. (5) Michal Barinka, D, 22
11. (12) Alexander Nikulin, C, 21
12. (10) Vitaly Anikeyenko, D, 20
13. (16) Tomas Kudelka, D, 19
14. (15) Cody Bass, C, 20
15. (11) Arttu Luttinen, LW, 23
16. (7) Jeff Glass, G, 21
17. (14) Kelly Guard, G, 21
18. (NR) Erik Condra, RW, 20
19. (19) Erik Gryba, D, 18
20. (20) Peter Regin, C, 20

By the way since that's according to HF standards, you'd have to add Karlsson to the present top 25 list for accurate comparison.

I wonder if we are the only team in the league with 3 'D' and a goalie in their top 5 :-)

Maybe LA with Forbort, Hickey, Voynov and Bernier? Add Schenn and Teubert for good measure.

Murray has improved our prospects 150%....

I think we deserve some top 15 consideration this time around from HF boards.

But as usual, we will be 20+.... :
