The way it works out in the US is that private corporations are willing to spend a lot in their communities. Over here, it's a dogfight to get any kind of funding for something like an arena in Quebec. It's ridiculous to think it's going to happen.
I dunno. You make money in the NFL hand over fist. It would be easy to show the profit coming back. More than the Nords.

That had everything to do with the location of the stadium. You honestly think if they had a stadium in downtown Montreal it would have been as bad? Imo it would've been at least twice as good.

On a chilly November weekend in Montreal...

Saturday night, live from Bell Center, Boston Bruins vs MTL Canadiens and Sunday night right from the Quebecor Stadium in Montreal, the New-England Pats vs the MTL Loggers!!

The arena in Quebec would be used for much more than just the Nords. What would the football field be used for to justify spending 500M$ other than an NFL franchise? Because the NFL franchise would be enough if private funding was around 60-70% of it, I doubt people will want to see their municipal, provincial and federal taxes used for this.

No LA? Because the NFL has said that's the only place that's being considered (for now) for the future expansion (in potentially 10-15 years).

NBA has little to no attraction, NFL would be too costly. Baseball has already been tried. I think it could work, but MLB wouldn't make a commitment on "maybe it'll work"

MLB FTW !!!

I like baseball a lot. I played a little and was a big Expos fan. Since they left, I dont follow that as much as before but I always enjoy watching a game with firends and beer.

I actually catch the super bowl, so if Montréal had a team, I'd jump on that bandwagon.

Plus, to have an NFL team would be a 1 up on Toronto.
Of all Canadian cities, Toronto is the most likely to get an NFL team

NFL and it's not even close for me.

I don't think we'd have any trouble packing a 70K arena for 8 games a year, the only problem is getting the funding to build the arena.

The arena could also be used for an annual Montreal-Toronto (or Boston match up).. It would be sold out, without question.

True, but for a year, or maybe even 5 minutes, Montréal would have a NFL team before them.

Other than the NHL I really see no other option.

Get an NFL team in here ASAP.

No one cares about anything else in north america so they are not important. At all.

Because MLB IS a beer league sport, Jean-Guy. I am a beer drinker and if that is the sole reason then I am all for it but if you want to be sober and still on the edge of your seat with action I recomment switching to NFL.

Whatever, im not good for these multi-sport threads, I only like hockey and other than that I am a Ben Cahoon fan whom I met personally and he was jackass nice to me. But oh was he cool to meet.

As much as I miss the Expos - yes I'd go to games regularly since the days of High school where I'd miss class to catch the home openers and then show up to school with forged notes of excuse ( the last 2 years I even signed them "his mother")

I'd go with the NFL!!

NFL then MLB then NBA.

Can't stand Basketball though. Too many stoppage, the end of a game tight game can last forever and its too repetitive. And the fact that getting a point in basketball is too easy, it makes it less exciting.

I don't like Baseball either. The tempo is wayyyyyyyyy to slow.
